    摘要: A system and method allows a consumer to purchase goods and services from merchants and redeem offers made by a merchant with a digital transaction on a smart phone. The merchant receives and enters the consumer's telephone number into an application. The consumer's telephone number is sent to a server, which checks for electronic coupons and loyalty points. Accounting for the value of any coupon/accumulated loyalty points, the merchant enters the payment amount into the application. which. in turn sends it back to the server. The server then sends the payment amount, any coupon details and the merchant's name to the consumer's phone. The consumer can choose to accept or decline the sale with or without using the coupon/loyalty points. A PIN number confirms the sale, which transmits to the server and then to the merchant. A digital sales receipt is sent to the merchant and consumer.

    摘要: A multi-application payment system and method operates in a hybrid closed/open manner. The multi-application payment system and method features a smart card wherein funds are added to the card at point of sale (POS) locations. The card keeps track of the available balance and is used to purchase goods/services at any POS location. During a transaction, the POS location verifies the amount of funds available and then debits the funds available on the card. Transactions between the card and the POS location are preformed in a substantially closed manner. The POS location then transfers data about the transaction (preferably in a batch manner) to a central processing system. The central processing system processes the data in a generally open manner to move funds to the appropriate account, preferably using the Federal ACH interface.

    摘要: An oil well blowout preventer includes a radially compressible annular packing having radially-sectored end portions in a housing having axially aligned upper and lower bores communicating with the inner bore of the packing and with the sectored ends, and also includes hydraulic means for radially constricting the packing, thereby causing it to axially expand. A plurality of circumferentially-arranged rigid wedge members carried by the sectored end portions are individually movable radially into the bores to control the axial expansion whereby radial sectors of the packing may move sequentially inward to effect a seal between the upper and lower bores in response to progressive axial expansion of the packing as the packing undergoes nonuniform sector-wise radial compression. The inward radial movement of the rigid members are limited by stops to a common radial position independent of the uniformity of the radial compression. The blowout preventer effects a seal between the inner bore and the upper and lower bores regardless of the presence of an oil well tool therein.

    摘要: An improvement in blowout preventer apparatus of the type having a radially compressible annular packing mounted within a housing chamber, the housing having axially aligned upper and lower conical bores communicating with an inner bore of the annular packing, the packing axially expanding towards said upper and lower bores upon said radial compression, a plurality of rigid end ring segments attached to sectored webs of the ends of the packing and thereby individually movable axially outwardly and radially inwardly relative to the upper and lower conical bores to control the packing axial expansion during radial compression of the packing has keying means cooperating with the rigid end ring segments of the packing and the conical bores for guiding a sector-wise movement of the segments in individually separate and predetermined paths along the conical bores to a common radial position independent of the uniformity of the packing radial compression and/or axial expansion. Exemplary keying means include a key member provided in a slot in the packing end ring segment and a mating keyway in the conical bore.
