Provided are a lens-interchangeable digital photographing apparatus that can use a suitable lens according to a photographing circumstance, a method of controlling the lens-interchangeable digital photographing apparatus, and a recording medium having recorded therein a program for the method. The lens-interchangeable digital photographing apparatus includes a photographing circumstance analysis unit, a lens suitability determination unit for determining whether a lens installed in the digital photographing apparatus is suitable for a photographing circumstance, a lens search unit for searching for lenses suitable for a photographing circumstance, and a display unit. If the lens suitability determination unit determines that the installed lens is not suitable for the photographing circumstance, lenses suitable for the photographing circumstance analyzed by the photographing circumstance analysis unit from among lenses searched by the lens search unit are displayed on the display unit to be recommended.

A digital camera with a viewfinder, an image displaying method on the viewfinder, and a photographing method with the digital camera are provided. The digital camera includes: a lens unit receiving the image light of an object and forming an image; a photoelectric conversion device converting the formed image into an electrical signal; a viewfinder changing the path of the light passing through the lens unit so that a user can observe the object; a special effect unit disposed in the path of light of the viewfinder and producing a special effect on an image to be displayed on the viewfinder; and a control unit connected to the photoelectric conversion device and the special effect unit and driving the special effect unit according to a selected special effect mode.

An apparatus for and method of controlling a digital image processing device in order to reduce power consumption by automatically recognizing a state in which power of a display device can be turned off or the display device can operate in a power saving mode, and in that case, turning off the display device or operating the display device in the power saving mode. The apparatus for controlling a digital image processing device includes: a motion sensing unit sensing a motion of the digital image processing device; and a control unit operating the digital image processing device in a power saving mode when it is determined that the digital image processing device moves.

Provided is a method of controlling a digital image processing apparatus that displays a histogram showing a number of display cells for each gradation of a displayed image according to the needs of a user. The method includes: displaying a partial area window of a shape selected by a user; moving the partial area window or changing a size of the partial area window according to a manipulation by the user; and displaying the histogram for an entire area of the displayed image and expressing an average brightness value of an area of a current partial area window in the histogram if a confirmation signal for the partial area window is input from by user.

A digital image processing apparatus displaying a histogram. The apparatus includes a face recognition portion recognizing at least one face area in an image, a histogram generation portion generating a histogram of the face area, and a display for displaying the histogram of the face area or an indicator indicating an average value corresponding to the histogram of the face area. Accordingly, a histogram of a face area of a person, which is typically the main object of an image, is displayed. A preferred exposure value can be obtained from a user, the calculated exposure values can be corrected and the exposure of a photograph can be quantitatively seen.

Provided are an apparatus and method of gamma correction, and more particularly, an apparatus and method for varying a gamma curve according to a brightness level of a detected image signal to adaptively perform gamma correction, in a digital image processor. The gamma correction apparatus in the digital image processor includes a brightness level detector detecting a brightness level from an image signal generated by capturing an image, a gamma curve calculator moving a start point and/or an end point of an existing gamma curve for correcting an input brightness level to a predetermined output brightness level, according to the detected brightness level, and calculating a new gamma curve, and a gamma corrector correcting an input brightness level of the image signal using the new gamma curve, and outputting the corrected brightness level.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method of removing fixed pattern noise in a digital camera are provided. The apparatus includes a signal processing unit that calculates location information of the fixed pattern noise from a dark image photographed using an ISO and exposure time that are different from an ISO and exposure time used to photograph a general image, and removes the fixed pattern noise from the general image using the location information. The fixed pattern noise can be effectively removed while reducing the total photographing time in comparison to conventional apparatuses and methods.

A memory card system and related write method are disclosed. The method includes receiving a write request for a predetermined page; performing a write operation on a first log block that corresponds to a first data block including the page; receiving an update request for the page; and performing a write operation on a second log block that corresponds to the first data block. The memory card system includes: at least one non-volatile memory including a data block and a log block for updating the data block; and a memory controller controlling an operation of the non-volatile memory. During a write operation for a predetermined page, the controller controls writing of a first log block corresponding to a first data block including the predetermined page, and controls writing of a second log block during an update operation of the predetermined page.
