    摘要: A backlight assembly includes a plurality of lamps, a multi-plate diffusion member, optical sheets and a receiving container. The lamps have a rod shape extended in a first direction, and are arranged along a second direction that is substantially perpendicular to the first direction. The diffusion member is disposed above the lamps and has at least two optical plates. Each of the optical plates includes a plurality of optical patterns on a surface facing away from the lamps. The optical patterns are extended in the first direction and aligned along the second direction. The optical sheets are disposed above the diffusion member to improve optical characteristics of passed through light. The receiving container includes a reflective bottom plate and a sidewall formed on an edge of the bottom plate to receive the lamps, the diffusion member and the optical sheets.

    摘要: A light guide plate includes a first optical member having a first light path-changing portion to separate a first light portion and a second light portion from a light, and a second optical member having a second light path-changing portion corresponding to the first light path-changing portion. The first optical member has a first refractive index against the first light portion of the light and a second refractive index against the second light portion of the light, and the second optical member has the first refractive index against the first and second light portions. Thus, brightness and brightness uniformity of an image displayed on a display apparatus may be improved, and a number of parts of the display apparatus may be reduced.

    摘要: An optical member that lends itself to be more cost-effectively manufactured than a conventional optical member is presented. A display device made with the optical member can be thinner than the conventional optical member. The optical member includes a light-incident face that receives light emitted from a lamp positioned at a side of the optical member, a light-exiting face that is in a plane perpendicular to the light-incident face, and a light reflecting face opposite to the light-exiting face. A light-concentrating pattern having a plurality of concentric circles is formed on the light-exiting face. The light-concentrating pattern may be the Fresnel lens pattern. A diffusing pattern for diffusing the light is formed on the light reflecting face. Since patterns are formed on the optical member, additional optical sheet such as a prism sheet, a reflective polarizing sheet, a diffusion sheet, etc., is unnecessary.
