    摘要: The present invention relates to an apparatus and method of classifying packets that can support a quality of service (QoS) in a network system. An apparatus for classifying packets according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes: a first unit that analyzes input data packets, extracts pluralities of specific fields from the data packets using an analyzed result, and outputs the pluralities of specific fields; pluralities of second units that compare data of a first portion of the pluralities of extracted specific fields with data in a table, determine whether items that satisfy a predetermined condition exist in the table, and output hit signals and pointers indicating positions of the items that satisfy the predetermined condition when the items that satisfy the predetermined condition exist in the table; and a third unit that compares data of a second portion of the pluralities of extracted specific fields and key data including the pointers input from the pluralities of second units and rule data in a rule table and outputs classes corresponding to the items when the key data and the rule data are matched.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for managing traffic using a VID in EPON are provided. The apparatus includes a MAC lookup table, a service classification policy table, a service control policy table, a MAC lookup unit, a first and second classification module, a VID learning unit and a first and second service control module. The apparatus classifies all packets of up/downlink transmission flow using a VID into a VID unit, through the first and second classification modules and manages traffic thereof according to the parameters thereof through the first and second service control modules. Accordingly, a large amount of traffic for numerous subscribers and services thereof, which was cannot be processed by the limitation on embodying a typical switch or router, can be processed according to the present invention.

    摘要: A wideband multi-tone transceiver system interoperable with Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) transceiver system, and including a two-step transceiver system having a discrete multi-tone transceiver system and a cosine modulated filter bank (CMFB) transmultiplexer. The two-step transceiver system provides a physically transparent transmission channel to each sub-band signal by minimizing the interference between sub-bands regardless of the transmission channel characteristics. The two-step transceiver system is realized with a comparably simple structure, and the circuit size is drastically reduced by sharing the FFT function with other sub-channels with the maximal utilization of the high-speed circuit when realizing each sub-channel's DMT modulation and demodulation function.
