    摘要: A vehicular lamp which irradiates a light by means of indirect illumination employing an LED light source and having an improved appearance when the lamp is lit. Light from an LED light source is formed into an upward parallel light flux by a Fresnel lens and reflected toward the front of a lamp by a reflector. The reflecting surface of the reflector is formed in a stepped shape by providing a reflective element and a step portion in each of a plurality of segments which are sectioned at a uniform interval in a vertical direction. The width in the longitudinal direction of the lamp of each of the reflective elements is gradually increased as the distance of the reflective elements increases from the intersection of the central axis of the parallel light flux and the reflecting surface. Accordingly, the incident light flux is made substantially constant among all the reflective elements, and hence the brightness of the light emitted by the lamp is made uniform.

    摘要: A vehicle lamp is constructed such that light exiting from an LED light source is converted into collimated light and such that the collimated light is reflected forward of the lamp by means of a reflector. At that time, the reflector portion has a stepwise reflection surface in which there are alternately formed a plurality of light incidence sections into which the collimated light enter and a plurality of intermediate sections into which no collimated light enters. Further, each of the intermediate sections is formed from an irregular surface formed so as to recess rearward of the lamp with respect to a plane parallel to the direction of radiation of the collimated light. By means of the irregular surface, stray light or the like included in the collimated light exiting from the optical member is reflected forward of the lamp. As a result, when the lamp is viewed from the front, the light incidence sections appear to glare, resembling spread spots, and the intermediate sections also appear to glare.

The LED emitted light can be caused to be incident on a reflective surface of the reflector in the form of substantially parallel beams which are directed in a direction that is substantially perpendicular to the optical axis. The LED emitted light can be caused to be incident on the range extending even to the peripheral edge of the reflective surface, without increasing the depth of the reflector. The reflection due to the reflector can be easily controlled.

Light emitted from the LED light sources is directed upward and formed into parallel beams by Fresnel lenses, and the parallel beams are reflected by a reflector in a frontward direction of the lamp. The reflector is divided into sub reflectors that differ in height and angle of forward inclination according to the areas on which the parallel light beams impinge. The distance between each of the LED light sources and the corresponding one of the Fresnel lenses increases in proportion to a decrease in the height of the corresponding one of the sub reflectors, and the intensity of the luminous flux impinging on each of the Fresnel lenses decreases in proportion to the decrease in the height of the corresponding one of the sub reflectors. Hence, the intensity of the luminous flux impinging on the reflecting surface of each of the sub reflectors decreases in proportion to the decrease in the projected area in the forward direction of the lamp, and thus the sub reflectors have a uniform luminance and the entire reflecting surface of the reflector appears uniform in brightness.
