    Abstract: A humidifier is for an airway pressure support system for delivering a humidified flow of breathing gas to a patient. The humidifier includes a water chamber, a conduit, a nozzle, a heater plate, and a separator feature. The conduit includes first and second ends, and a wall portion defining an interior pathway between the first and second ends and structured to convey the flow of breathing gas between the first and second ends. The nozzle is fluidly connected to the water chamber and configured to produce a water droplet from water received from the water chamber. The heater plate is coupled to the wall portion, exposed to the interior pathway, and positioned to receive the water droplet from the nozzle. The separator feature is coupled to the wall portion and configured to shield the water droplet from the flow of breathing gas.

    Abstract: A ventilation mask (10) includes a mask body (100), a frame (200) and an elbow (300). The mask body has a first opening (130) and a sealing member (110) configured to engage the face of a patient so as to surround at least a mouth and a nose of the patient. The frame is connected to an outer surface of the mask body, and has an interface member (220) configured to interlock with the mask body at the first opening. The elbow has a first end (310) connectable with a gas supply, and a second end (320) configured to be fixedly secured to the interface member of the frame and to enable flow of gas from the elbow into the mask body through the first opening.

    Abstract: An apparatus for use in humidifying a flow of treatment gas for a user includes: a housing; an inlet structured to receive the flow of treatment gas from a gas flow generator; an outlet structured to convey the flow of treatment gas to a patient interface device; a compartment defined in the housing, the compartment being structured to hold a volume of water therein; a primary valve disposed between the inlet and the compartment, the primary valve being structured to permit passage of the flow of treatment gas from the inlet to the compartment and to prevent passage of a fluid from the compartment to the inlet; and a secondary valve disposed between the compartment and the inlet which is structured to permit passage of a fluid from the compartment to the inlet and to prevent passage of the flow of treatment gas from the inlet to the compartment.

    Abstract: A bronchoscopy scope guide (30) for a non-invasive ventilation (NIV) patient interface (10) comprises a semi-rigid scope guide tube (32), a bronchoscopy scope seal (48), and a semi-rigid grommet (34). The semi-rigid scope guide tube (32) includes a principal axis (36) and entrance and exit guide portions (38,40). The bronchoscopy scope seal (48) couples to the scope guide tube for sealing around a bronchoscopy scope when inserted through the scope guide tube. The semi-rigid grommet (34) is disposed about an outer circumference of and flexibly coupled to the scope guide tube (32) and is located in a principal plane (52) transverse to the principal axis of the scope guide tube. The scope guide tube (32) is pivotally manipulate-able about the flexible coupling of the grommet (34) for positioning a distal end (46) of the exit guide portion of the scope guide tube proximate, but not in contact with, one of a nasal cavity or mouth opening of a patient for assisted guidance control of the bronchoscopy scope within an interior region (58) of the patient interface (10) in performance of a bronchoscopy procedure.

The humidifier includes a water chamber, a filter, a filtration meter, a conduit, a nozzle, and a heater plate. The filter has a housing structured to house a filtration medium therein and having an inlet fluidly connected with the water chamber and an outlet. The filtration meter includes an inlet fluidly connected to the outlet of the filter, an outlet, a body portion extending between the inlet and the outlet which is structured to convey water from the inlet of the filtration meter to the outlet of the filtration meter, and a mechanism located in the body portion which is structured to measure filtration data of the water conveyed through the body portion.
