Abstract:
The present invention relates to a consumable recognition system for recognizing placement and/or type of consumable containing a food substance for the preparation of a beverage by use of a beverage dispenser. To enable the recognition of placement and/or type of consumable in a simple, foolproof and easily implementable way the system comprises a light sensor (32, 301, 312, 321, 332) for sensing light (36) reflected from a reflection element (42, 52, 62, 73, 82, 92) of the consumable during a relative movement between the consumable and the light sensor to obtain a sensor signal, wherein the sensor signal depends on the position, reflectivity and/or pattern of said reflection element, a movable sensor carrier (2) carrying said light sensor (301, 312, 321), wherein said light sensor is configured to sense light reflected from said reflection element (52, 62, 73, 82, 92) during a movement of said sensor carrier, and a signal processor (33) for recognizing placement and/or type of consumable based on said sensor signal.
Abstract:
A coffee dispensing apparatus (200) includes a base (210) and an at least one nozzle (208). Further, base (210) and nozzle (208) are arranged such that the dispensed coffee flows via inner upstanding wall (214a) of a standard sized coffee container (212). The coffee thus collected in the container has an aesthetically improved crema.
Abstract:
A coffee machine (1) for providing coffee brew with reduced caffeine content is disclosed. The coffee machine (1) comprises a mixer (8) for mixing coffee grind (19) and a caffeine-reducing additive (20), the mixer having a coffee inlet (14) for receiving the coffee grind (19), an additive inlet (18) for receiving the caffeine-reducing additive (20), and a mixer outlet (21) for providing a mixture (22) of coffee grind and additive, and a brewing unit (5) for brewing the mixture (22) of coffee grind and additive, the brewing unit (5) having a brewing unit inlet (23) and a brewing unit outlet (24) for providing coffee brew, wherein the brewing unit inlet (23) of the brewing unit (5) is connected to the mixer outlet (21) of the mixer (8) for receiving the mixture (22) of coffee grind and additive. Furthermore, a corresponding method and a replaceable cartridge containing a caffeine-reducing additive are presented.
Abstract:
Patient interface devices (8) structured to deliver a flow of breathing gas to an airway of a patient include a member (16) structured to contact and adhere to a face of the patient responsive to the patient interface being donned by the patient, the member having a contact surface and an adhesive layer (34) provided on the contact surface.
