摘要: The present invention relates to a member (14, 24, 26) of a patient interface (10) for providing a flow of breathable gas to a self-ventilating patient (12). The member (14, 24, 26) comprises a wear-out indicator (32) for indicating a wear-out of the member (14, 24, 26) to the patient (12). The wear-out indicator (32) comprises an elastic structure (34) that appears in a first colour in an unstressed condition and is configured to reversibly change its apparent colour when being stretched and returned to its unstressed condition again. The elastic structure (34) is configured to indicate a wear-out of the member (14, 24, 26) by appearing in a second colour in its unstressed condition when the structure (34) has lost at least a part of its elasticity, wherein the second colour is different from the first colour.

摘要: A fiber quality sensor (S) comprises a first pair of mutually adjacent electrodes arranged for contacting the fiber to generate a first voltage over the electrodes, the first voltage being indicative of the quality of the fiber, the first pair of electrodes including a first conductive electrode (1), and a first dielectric electrode (D, 2) having a first dielectric material (D) with a conductive backing (2). The fiber quality sensor (S) may further comprise a second pair of electrodes arranged for contacting the fiber to generate a second voltage over the electrodes, the second voltage being indicative of the quality of the fiber, the second pair of mutually adjacent electrodes including a second conductive electrode (1), and a second dielectric electrode (D, 2) having a second dielectric material with a conductive backing, wherein in a tribo-electric series of materials, the material of the conductive electrode is arranged between the first and second dielectric materials. The fiber quality sensor (S) may comprise horizontally or vertically alternating first and second pairs of electrodes. The first and/or second pairs of electrodes may be tilted, slanted and/or zigzag-shaped. The fiber quality sensor (S) may for the or each pair of electrodes further comprise an amplifier coupled to the pair of electrodes and having an input impedance exceeding 1 TΩ, and preferably being 200 TΩ. The fiber quality sensor (S) is advantageously applied in a hair care device.

摘要: The present invention relates to devices and methods for uptaking and analyzing sweat from a skin of a user. In particular, it is proposed to provide a variability in the size of the sweat sensor inlets (102, 103, 104), which can be used for improving the determination of sweat parameters like for example determining the number of active sweat glands The variability in the size of the inlets (102, 103, 104) with which the sweat sensor (100) uptakes the sweat from the user's skin (111) can be achieved by having either plurality of inlets wherein at least some of them have different opening sizes and to use the differently sized inlets based in different situations. Alternatively, one or more inlets may have openings with variable cross-sectional area, like e.g. an adjustable diameter of their opening, and also a combination of these two alternatives is of course possible. A processor of the sweat sensor may use the information from either all or only the most appropriate sized inlets to determine a sweat parameter. In another alternative, the processor may adapt the inlet to the adjustable inlet opening to the most appropriate size to then determine a sweat parameter of interest.

摘要: Provided is a system (300) for determining a sweat rate per gland and measuring biomarker concentration. The system comprises an apparatus and a sensor (166). The apparatus receives sweat from the skin and transports the sweat as discrete sweat droplets to the sensor. The sensor senses each of the counted sweat droplets. The system further comprises a processor which counts the number of sensed sweat droplets during a time period. The processor also determines time intervals between consecutive sensed sweat droplets, and receives a measure of the volume of each of the counted sweat droplets. The time intervals and the measure of the volume are then used by the processor to identify sweat burst and rest periods of the sweat gland or glands producing the sweat. This identification process necessarily involves assigning the sweat burst and rest periods to the sweat gland or glands, such that the processor is permitted to determine the number of sweat glands involved in producing the sweat. The sweat rate per gland may then be determined from the number of sweat droplets, the measure of the volume of each of the counted sweat droplets, and the determined number of sweat glands. Further provided is a method for determining a sweat rate per gland.
