Abstract: A packaging device (1) for articles, such as beverage containers and the like, is disclosed. The packaging device (1) comprises at least one transport device (3) for articles and at least one manipulator. By the at least one transport device, articles can be moved into a working area of the at least one manipulator. The at least one manipulator can apply a respective outer packaging from above to articles moving into its working area within the context of a first packaging process and/or can place articles from above onto a respective outer packaging within the context of the first packaging process. In addition, a second packaging process is provided for the packaging device (1), which second packaging process comprises a lateral insertion of articles into a respective outer packaging not provided for in the first packaging process.

Abstract: Disclosed is a packaging robot for articles such as beverage containers or the like. The packaging robot comprises a bridge (3) as well as at least two tool holders (5) arranged at the bridge (3), wherein the at least two tool holders (5) arranged on the bridge (3) are each movable along the bridge (3) and can each accommodate a tool head (7). It is provided that at least one tool holder (5) of the at least two tool holders (5) arranged at the bridge (3) is optionally able to be equipped with a particular tool head (7) adapted to the particular packaging process to be performed. It is also provided that the at least one tool holder (5) of the at least two tool holders (5) can switch into a standby mode while remaining at the bridge (3) if the particular packaging process to be performed by the packaging robot does not require the at least one tool holder (5) to be equipped with a tool head (7).

Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a system for packaging articles (2). Outer packages (3) are set down on a horizontal conveying device (10, 20) and are transported along a packaging line. During the transport, articles are introduced via a manipulator into the outer packages (3), and the outer packages (3) with the introduced articles (2) are subsequently removed from the horizontal conveying device (10, 20) as a packaging unit (8). A predetermined packaging process (VP1) is carried out, in which the outer packages (3) are received by the horizontal conveying device (10, 20) via a plurality of shuttles (5), the outer packages (3) standing on said plurality of shuttles (5), until the outer packages (3) together with the introduced articles (2) are removed from the at least one horizontal conveying device (10, 20) as a packaging unit (8).
