摘要： Method and apparatus for scheduling operations of a network adapter in such a way as to minimize latency in processing received data packets, while still guaranteeing time for processing necessary background tasks. The method includes executing a polling loop in which repeated tests are made for the presence of receive data to process, but only a limited amount of receive data processing is performed before checking for background processing that needs to be performed. The polling loop ensures that immediate attention is given to processing of receive data, without the inherent latency of interrupt processing, but still gives periodic opportunities for background processing. Background processing is performed for a guaranteed minimum processing time before permitting a return to receive processing. Background processing may be performed without a guaranteed minimum processing time, but only when there is currently no receive processing to do.

摘要： A single conversion tuner comprises an image reject downconverter and a plurality of tracking RF bandpass filters ahead of the downconverter for providing image rejection. The downconverter comprises first and second mixers which mix the signal from the filters with quadrature commutating signals from a commutating signal generator. The mixer outputs are filtered by first and second roofing filters and the filtered signals are summed in a summer amplifier. The roofing filters may be off-chip inductance/capacitance filters.

摘要： A radio frequency tuner comprises one or more tracking filters ahead of at least one frequency changer. A controller has a filter alignment mode and a reception mode. Each filter has one or more resonant networks comprising an inductance and a switched capacitor network which is digitally controlled for selecting the network resonant frequency. In the alignment mode, the controller determines the difference between the nominal and actual capacitances of the network for achieving a known resonant frequency in order to determine a correction factor for the capacitor network. The correction factor is then used during normal reception by the tuner.

摘要： Techniques are described that can be used to reduce interference in a desired channel by one or more other channels. A radio includes a level detect logic that is responsive to both the frequency offset and amplitude of undesired signals and sets the gain applied to received signals based on the offset frequency and determined amplitude of undesired signals. For example, detection of a signal amplitude in an interfering signal in a channel adjacent to the desired channel may be made. Detection of a signal amplitude in an interfering signal in a channel other than the adjacent channel and desired channel may also be made. Based on detection of one or more interfering channel, a gain of an input signal may be adjusted. Interference arising from at least spectral re-growth of noise and clipping noise may be reduced.
