    摘要: The invention relates to a process for producing substantially gel-free copolymers of butadiene and isobutylene having number average molecular weights of from about 50,000 to about 200,000 and levels of unsaturation of from about 3 weight percent to about 25 weight percent. The process which is homogeneous in nature involves polymerizing the monomers in an aliphatic solvent or mixture of such solvents in the presence of a BF.sub.3 /ROH catalyst system at a temperature of below -95.degree. C.

    摘要: Electrically conductive polymer blends of an acetylene polymer, such as poly(acetylene), and a triblock thermoplastic elastomer, such as styrene-butadiene-styrene, are disclosed. In addition, a method for preparing such blends wherein the acetylene polymer is preferentially formed in the central elastomeric block of the triblock copolymer is disclosed. These blends exhibit high conductivity and elasticity upon doping with electron donors or electron acceptors.

The low level of unsaturation provides resistance to heat, light, oxygen and ozone and yet provides sufficient sites for crosslinking of the blend to provide increased stability.     摘要: A process which comprises reacting maleic anhydride and a primary or secondary C.sub.1 -C.sub.18 alcohol to form a maleic half ester, and then polymerizing the half ester and monoalkenyl aromatic monomer in ester solvent in the presence of a catalyst to form a solution of monoalkenyl aromatic monomer-maleic half ester copolymer having a weight average molecular weight of at least 110,000 Daltons. After formation of the copolymer, the reaction solution is neutralized to form a mixture of an alkaline salt solution of the copolymer and solvent and then the solvent is removed from the mixture.
