    摘要: In a disk drive, a read-ahead operation is prevented from being aborted due to an interrupt such as an error, to prevent the operation of a host device from stopping and to enhance reliability. The disk drive is connected to a host computer, the host device, via an interface, and performs read ahead after reading data in accordance with a data read command received from the host computer. When a read-ahead abort prevention function is provided at the host computer side, if the read ahead is interrupted by detecting an error at the disk drive side during the read ahead, the host device, after receiving an error report, causes the disk drive to resume the read ahead from the address at which the read ahead was interrupted. On the other hand, when the read-ahead abort prevention function is provided at the disk drive side, the disk drive, upon detecting an error, retries the read ahead from the address at which the error occurred. The read-ahead operation can thus be prevented from being aborted when an error is encountered.

    摘要: There is provided a cleaning device for removing residual toner on an image carrier. The cleaning device includes a housing to cover a specified region of an image carrier. A first cleaning section and a second cleaning section are respectively placed in upper and lower parts of the housing partitioned by a partition member. The first cleaning section includes a first cleaning brush and a first regulating member. The second cleaning section includes a second cleaning brush and a second regulating member. The partition member substantially extends in a continuous manner with respect to a horizontal direction from the specified region to at least a position equivalent to an end portion on a housing sidewall side of the first or the second regulating member. A clearance exists between the housing sidewall and an end portion on the housing sidewall side of the partition member.

The solenoid part of each of the solenoid valves and the respective connection terminals inside the coupler can thus be connected and disconnected extremely easily and, moreover, any erroneous connection can be avoided.

    摘要: A motor drive control unit includes a chip in which everything about a control system is provided and controls a spindle motor which rotates magnetic disks at a constant speed. When a measurement instruction is received from a disturbance generating unit and the upper-level device, sine wave disturbance is generated in the revolution speed of the spindle motor which depends on the motor drive control unit. A speed detecting unit detects the revolution speed of the spindle motor as measured data while the disturbance is being generated by the disturbance generating unit. A measured data transferring unit transfers the detected measured data detected by the speed detecting unit to the upper-level device, wherein control characteristics such as gains and phases with respect to frequencies of the motor control unit are computed.
