摘要: A multicolor electrostatic recording apparatus in which two or more different color toner image are superimposed by respective electrostatic recording units. Each of the electrostatic recording units includes an electrostatic latent image carrier, a developer for developing an electrostatic latent image formed on the carrier with a color toner, and a detector for detecting the density of the developed image on the basis of a detecting mark which is formed on the carrier as a part of the latent image and developed by the developer. A discriminating means compares the density data with an optional desired density value to discriminate whether the density data falls in an allowable range. A controller feed-back controls at least one of parameters for determining the density of the developed image so that the density becomes to be in the allowable range, when the density falls out of the allowable range. The parameter is memorized as a compensating data for the density of the developed image, when the density falls in the allowable range. Thus, with the compensating data, a process using the parameter for determining the density of the developed image is carried out.

摘要: The present invention aims at providing a method of controlling a post-processor connected with an image-forming device that utilizes a conventional image-forming device and post-processing unit, and does not necessarily require to consistently form a sag in continuous paper. The inventive method of controlling the post-processor is carried out by the image-forming device that includes a transfer part and a fixing part, and conveys continuous paper. The image-forming device is connected with the post-processor that processed the continuous paper on which an image has been formed. The method comprises the steps of initiating an electrophotographic image-forming operation in the transfer part and the fixing part so that the image-forming device forms an image onto and conveys the continuous paper, initiating an operation of the post-processor so that the post-processor post-processes and conveys the continuous paper, stopping the operation of the post-processor on or before a completion of a transfer by the transfer part onto the continuous paper, conveying to the fixing part the continuous paper onto which the fixing part has finished transferring, and conveying to the transfer part the continuous paper onto which the fixing part finishes a fixation.

摘要: When a time mode is selected, after power to the apparatus as a whole is cut off, the time until the scheduled start of supply of power to the heating units is counted. When the scheduled time of the start of supply of power is reached, power starts to be supplied to the heating units. When the continuous mode is selected, instruction is given to continue supplying power to the heating units even when power to the apparatus as a whole is turned off. Also, when a service start time is input, the next build-up time is predicted or the amount of power previously supplied to the heating units is changed based on the changes along with time in the temperature, humidity, and other facets of the internal environment of the heating units measured up until then, a predetermined amount of power starts to be supplied to the heating units in advance of the service start time by the predicted build-up time, the changes along with time in the internal environment from the start of supply of power to the heating heats up until when the print ready region is reached are measured and stored, and power starts to be supplied to the apparatus as a whole when the service start time is reached.

摘要: An image processing system capable of combining two or more image data having different pixel densities into one page of image data. The system includes a parallel/serial converter and a serial/parallel converter. A first clock is input into the parallel/serial converter and a second clock is input into the serial/parallel converter. Image data is converted into serial image data by the parallel/serial converter in synchronism with the first clock and then the serial image data is converted into parallel image data by the serial/parallel converter in synchronism with the second clock. By varying the number of clock pulses per unit time between the first and second clocks, the input image data having a first pixel density may be converted into output image data having second pixel density.

摘要: A checking method for a device having a plurality of light emitting elements, especially an LED array installed in electronic printing equipment. The check is done while the LED array is mounted in the equipment and does not require removal thereof. The check is done in a short time period, so it can be done during a period of page change of the printer, without disturbing the operation of the printer. Each of the LEDs are lighted one by one with a pulse. The output emission of the array is detected by a photoelectric detector which is positioned to detect the emission from any of the LEDs. The output of the detector becomes a burst of pulses, each of the pulses representing the emission property of a corresponding LED. Each pulse is converted into a digital signal and stored in a RAM as emission data. The emission data is fed back to the driver of each LED to compensate for differences in the emission characteristics of the LEDs. This improves the uniformity of the output image the electronic printer. Each time of the check is performed, the RAM is rewritten. Thereby, a change in the emission data indicates a change or degradation of one or more of the LEDs. This enables one to forecast the life expectancy of the LED array, and maintenance of the printer becomes easier.

摘要: A facsimile communication apparatus of the type which once stores facsimile data to be transmitted after scanning includes an information adding circuit which adds such information as source of transmission, total number of pages and current page number to each page of facsimile data before transmission. The present apparatus also keeps the current page number of a batch of facsimile data being transmitted and allows to transmit facsimile data from that portion corresponding to the current page number when transmission is resumed after interruption.
