A liquid crystal display wrist watch is disclosed which comprises a supporting frame secured to a wrist watch substrate. The frame has two perpendicularly crossing supporting surfaces which cooperate with two corresponding reference sides of a liquid crystal cell to determine the position of exterior electrodes of the liquid crystal cell and segment electrodes of an electronic circuit. A holding frame plate is used for detachably urging the liquid crystal against the suppporting frame. A boundary plate and color filter are each sandwiched between a movement and a protective glass cover. A portion is provided for determining the position of the holding frame plate, with respect to either to the movement or an outer case.

A disk-shaped substrate supports on its front side a liquid-crystal cell bracketed by an upper and a lower glass plate and on its rear side an electric battery along with circuit elements for controlling the selective energization of various electrode leads of the cell to generate different digital symbols, the substrate being sandwiched between two flexible printed sheets whose conductors establish the necessary connections between the battery and the electrode leads of the cell. The connection between corresponding conductors of the two printed sheets is established by metal pins passing insulatedly through apertures in the substrate. A crystal oscillator included in the control circuit is enclosed in a sealed envelope which is received in a trough of the rear substrate face offset from a depression for the battery, the front substrate face being provided with a recess accommodating a chip connected in the wiring pattern of the printed sheet overlying that front face whose extremities are flexed around the lower glass plate to establish contact with conductor terminals carried on projecting marginal portions of the upper glass plate.

A painting method and a painting apparatus are disclosed, in which a few kinds of five to eight primary color paints are transferred along corresponding paint-transferring lines, and at a primary color paint selecting/extracting unit 6 provided at an intermediate of the painting apparatus 1 necessary primary color paints are selected and extracted for a certain amount and transferred into a paint-transferring passage 5, and then the extracted primary color paints are mixed at an agitating unit 7 provided at an intermediate of the paint-transferring passage 5 such that a suitable color paint having a certain viscosity is prepared. The suitable color paint thus prepared is then transferred to a spray gun G. A washing unit C is provided at the beginning end of the paint-transferring passage 5. When changing the color paint, the common paint-transferring passage 5 is cleaned by washing liquid ejected from the washing unit C. The cleaning operation is automatically controlled at a control unit 24 based on a previously input painting program.

A switch mechanism for an electronic timepiece which makes use of an electro-optical display element. The switch mechanism serves to effect erasure, correction and the like of the display and comprises an exteriorly operated member provided in its axial direction with a plurality of stable positions and rotatable about its axis at the stable positions and provided in its rotating sense with stable positions. An erasing switch is provided for erasing the display at the stable positions when the exteriorly operated member is rotated at one of the stable positions in its axial direction. A correction switch corrects the display at the stable position when said exteriorly operated member is rotated at at least one other stable position in its axial direction.
