An objective lens for an optical pickup apparatus includes: one optical surface in an aspherical shape including a central area for converging the first and second light fluxes having a first area and the second area, and a peripheral area for converging the first light flux. The central area includes a first diffractive structure. The first diffractive structure faces an outer side of the objective lens in the first area and faces an inner side of the objective lens in the second area. The peripheral area is an optical surface which makes a light flux passing through the peripheral area reach to a position apart from the optical axis on an information recording surface of the second optical information recording medium when the optical pickup apparatus records or reproduces information on the second optical information recording medium using the second light flux.

A refrigerating machine provided with inverter-driven compressor comprises current detection circuit that detects current being supplied to drive the compressor and a control circuit that controls the compressor based on a detection result from the current detection circuit. The invented control unit for refrigerating machine is characterized in that the control circuit which applies fixed frequency and fixed voltage to the compressor on start-up. An operation of the compressor is valuated using detection result from the current detection circuit, and based on the result from the current detection circuit, operating frequency of the compressor is controlled.

A control apparatus for a multi-air-conditioner having an external unit and a plurality of internal units includes a DC electric power supply. An external transmitting/receiving circuit is provided with the external unit and is connected with the DC electric power supply, and a plurality of internal transmitting/receiving circuits are provided with the plurality of internal units and are connected serially with the external transmitting/receiving circuit via a signal line. A DC voltage is supplied for transmitting data from the external unit to the internal unit, which reduces a leakage distance of the circuit. A timing for transmitting data can be set freely, a transmitting speed of data can be improved using a high-speed photo-coupler, and thus an operation speed of the internal unit can be improved in the multi-air-conditioner having the plurality of internal units.

There are provided an optical pickup apparatus which can record/reproduce information properly at a time of temperature change or of using a multilayer disc, and an objective lens for use in the same. When temperature changes, spherical aberration resulting from a change in refractive index of objective lens OBJ increases. Therefore, collimation lens CL is moved by uniaxial actuator AC1 in the direction of the optical axis, to make a finite light flux enter objective lens OBJ, which controls the spherical aberration. When a BD is a multilayer disc, spherical aberration also increases at a time of carrying out an interlayer jump from one layer to another in a plurality of information recording surfaces. Therefore, collimation lens CL is moved in the direction of the optical axis corresponding to the increase. The tilt sensitivity of objective lens OBJ is increased to handle that. Thereby, the occurrence of the third-order coma is effectively controlled even when a finite light flux enters objective lens OBJ.
