摘要: A rotation-transmitting mechanism includes a first planetary gear mechanism and a locking mechanism. The first planetary gear mechanism transmits rotational driving force to the transportation unit through a first planet gear to rotate the transportation roller when the motor rotates in a first direction, and transmits rotational driving force to the transportation unit through a second planet gear to rotate the transportation roller when the motor rotates in a second direction. The locking mechanism can lock a planetary rocking member of the first planetary gear mechanism in such a condition that rotational driving force of the motor is transmitted to the transportation unit through the second planet gear. The locking mechanism terminates locking of the planetary rocking member of the first planetary gear mechanism by engaging with the sheet in the transportation path downstream of the transportation roller with respect to the direction in which the sheet is transported.

摘要: Disclosed is a toner obtained by coating surfaces of core particles including at least a binder resin having a carboxyl group and a coloring agent with successive coatings of a water-soluble crosslinking agent capable of crosslinking with a carboxyl group and a water-soluble polymer having a carboxyl group, which have been successively applied on the core particles and crosslinked with each other. The thus-formed toner is provided with a good harmony of favorable fixability represented by a low lowest fixable temperature and favorable storage stability represented by little aggregation after standing at 50° C. for 8 hours.

摘要: A technique is provided which enables keeping color developers of yellow, magenta and cyan in developing devices in a satisfactory state even in a circumstance where a black toner is mainly used, in an image forming apparatus which is capable of executing image quality maintenance control and the like and which carries out printing to a photoconductor, a belt and so on while stirring the developer of each color. A determination standard for determining whether the quantity of remaining developer in a developing device housing a developer of a color that is not black should be detected or not can be selected and set from plural kinds of determination standards. Information used for determination based on the set determination standard is acquired. On the basis of the set determination standard and the acquired information, the quantity of remaining developer in the developing device housing the developer of the color that is not black of the plural colors is detected.

摘要: A lithium secondary battery (10) provided by the present invention includes a current interruption mechanism (40) operated by a rise in internal pressure. A positive electrode (32) of this battery (10) has a positive electrode mixture layer containing lithium carbonate, a conductive material and a positive electrode active material consisting primarily of a lithium-transition metal oxide. The lithium carbonate is disposed on the surface of the conductive material. Such a positive electrode mixture layer can preferably be fabricated using a positive electrode mixture composition containing a positive electrode active material and a composite conductive material comprising lithium carbonate retained on the surface of a conductive material.

摘要: Recording paper fed from a paper feed section comes in contact with a paper detection member of a detector unit and the paper detection member is rotated about a first fulcrum, shading the optical axis of an optical sensor. When the recording paper passes through and the paper detection member is brought out of contact with the recording paper, the paper detection member is restored to the former position and does not shade the optical axis. A carriage/cartridge detection member of the detector unit comes in contact with a carriage engagement part and a cartridge engagement part placed in a carriage and is rotated about a second fulcrum, shading the optical axis of the optical sensor. When the carriage/cartridge detection member is brought out of contact with the engagement parts, the carriage/cartridge detection member is restored to the former position and does not shade the optical axis.
