To provide a non-invasive blood pressure estimation apparatus, which can accurately estimate systolic blood pressure from blood flow sound of a dialysis patient and continuously estimate systolic blood pressure by continuously picking up the blood flow sound. A blood pressure estimation apparatus creates a standard pulse curve by relating a start point and end point of a rising phase of a pulse wave to diastolic blood pressure and systolic blood pressure, respectively, creates a correspondence curve between blood flow sound power and estimated blood pressure by contrasting the standard pulse curve with the blood flow sound power curve obtained from blood flow sound at a shut site, with the two curves plotted on the same time axis, derives a systolic blood pressure estimation linear function from the correspondence curve, inputs a measured maximum value of the blood flow sound power into the linear function, and thereby estimates systolic blood pressure.

A hemodiafiltration system which enables concurrent performance, in a single system, of hemodialysis and hemofiltration includes a dialyzer, consisting of a casing and at least one semipermeable membrane accommodated therein for dialyzing and purifying body fluid such as blood, plasma, etc., through contacting of the body fluid and dialyzate via the semipermeable membrane, and pumps for causing the dialyzate to flow through the dialyzer. A controller repeatedly changes the difference between the inflow amount of the dialyzate into the dialyzer per unit time and the outflow amount of the same from the dialyzer per unit time from a positive value to a negative value and then from negative to positive, whereby the repeated operation of taking or sucking out aqueous component or constituent and accompanying waste molecules from the body fluid followed by infusing or forcing a compensatory amount of dialyzate into the body fluid is made possible.

A blood clarification device wherein a means for measuring blood pressure comprises (a) a needle-detector which is much thinner than the puncture needle and capable of being smoothly inserted into a blood vessel from outside through an inner aperture of the puncture needle, (b) an insertion aperture, for allowing fluid-tight insertion of the needle-detector, positioned on a wall of the blood supply passage in the vicinity of the puncture needle, and (c) a pressure transducer for detecting the blood pressure inside the blood vessel transmitted thereto via the needle-detector. In a blood clarification apparatus of the present invention, blood pressure inside a blood vessel is transmitted to a pressure transducer via a needle-detector during dialysis/filtration operation and blood pressure of a patient is detected continuously and automatically by the pressure transducer. A counterplan such as control of water-removing-rate or supplying-supplementary-fluid-rate based on the detected blood pressure is automatically carried out, so that safety of dialysis/filtration operation can be effectively improved.
