    摘要: A carbureting type fuel metering apparatus has a primary and secondary induction passage into which fuel is fed by several fuel metering systems among which are primary and secondary main fuel metering systems and an idle fuel metering system, as generally known in the art; engine exhaust gas analyzing means sensitive to selected constituents of such exhaust gas creates a feedback signal which through an associated solenoid transducer becomes effective for controllably modulating the metering characteristics of the main fuel metering system systems, and, if desired, the idle fuel metering system as to thereby achieve the then desired optimum metering function; the solenoid transducer is shown as simultaneously controlling two valving members and is effective upon experiencing a failure to assume a position providing for a rich fuel mode of engine operation.

    摘要: An automotive fluid control system with pressure balanced solenoid valve [24] and fluid mixing housing [22] is disclosed. The solenoid valve [24] is preferably used in an EGR (exhaust gas circulation) fluid control system, although the valve may be used in other vehicle fluid control systems, such as an engine block cooling liquid control system. A poppet member [84] of an EGR valve is pressured balanced such that only a light spring [170] and armature [88] are needed to control the positioning of the poppet member [84]. Magnetic and inductance sensors [184, 282] are used to accurately determine the position of the poppet member. The fluid mixing housing [22] homogeneously mixes first and second fluids. A portion of a main first fluid flow is funneled off and mixed in the housing [22] with a second fluid prior to being returned to the main fluid flow. Ideally, the housing [22] has a circumferentially extending channel [95] for intercepting, funnelling and mixing the captured portion of the main first fluid flow with the second fluid flow. Also, a solenoid subassembly [82] is disclosed which can mate with a variety of different valve housings [22] and which is adapted to mount on various engine configurations.

    摘要: A solenoid actuated valve for regulating the fluid pressure at a control port by cyclically connecting the control port alternately to a fluid pressure supply source and to a sump includes a sleeve-like valve member slidably mounted on a fixed valve member for movement between two positions in response to energization or deenergization of the solenoid coil. The valve sleeve is the armature of the solenoid and operates within an internal chamber in the valve housing with pressure within the chamber balanced against its opposite ends. Energization and deenergization of the solenoid coil may be controlled by a processor which supplies a pulse width modulated electric control signal variable in response to processor inputs to establish a control port pressure which is accurately linearly related to the time duration of the pulse width modulated signal.
