    摘要: Disclosed are systems, methods, and devices for generating radicals in an air stream at the intake of an internal combustion engine, as well as increasing the thrust of such air streams into the engine. A plasma generator including plasma actuators, dielectric barrier discharge electrodes, or both is positioned in the intake stream. Plasma actuators are disposed on the interior surface of the plasma generator, exposed to the intake stream. Dielectric barrier discharge electrodes protrude into the intake air stream. Plasma, preferably DBD plasma, glow plasma, or filamentary plasma, is generated in the air intake stream, creating radicals in the stream, mixing the radicals in the stream, and reducing drag while increasing thrust of air in the intake stream. A concentric cylinder can be further disposed in the plasma generator, with further plasma actuators, dielectric barrier discharge electrodes, or both, on the interior and exterior surfaces of the cylinder.

    摘要: A supercharging and pressure accumulating structure for an all terrain vehicle or a utility vehicle includes an engine body including a cylinder having an intake passage and an outtake passage. A supercharger includes a chamber having an inlet and an outlet. An air accumulator is mounted between the cylinder and the supercharger and includes an air chamber. An input side of the air chamber intercommunicates with the outlet of the supercharger. An intake manifold is connected between an output side of the air chamber and the intake passage. Operation of the engine body actuates the supercharger to generate a supercharged air current. The supercharged air current is firstly introduced through the input side of the air accumulator into the air chamber, passes through the output side of the air accumulator into the intake manifold to mix with fuel ejected by at least one nozzle, and then enters the cylinder.

    摘要: Systems and methods are provided for engine systems including a first multiple tap aspirator with a motive inlet coupled to an intake upstream of an air induction system throttle and a mixed flow outlet coupled to an intake manifold, and a second multiple tap aspirator with a motive inlet coupled to the intake upstream of a main throttle and a mixed flow outlet coupled to the intake downstream of the air induction system throttle. During non-boost conditions, intake air may be selectably diverted around a compressor and through the first and/or second aspirator based on desired vacuum generation. During boost conditions, the first and second aspirators may function as compressor bypass valves, and intake air may be selectably directed from downstream of the compressor to upstream of the compressor via the first and/or second aspirator based on a desired compressor bypass flow.

    摘要: A supercharger (15) is provided with a bypass pathway (17). A backflow preventer (20) is provided to the air intake pathway (8) between an airflow meter (10) and the bypass pathway (17). The backflow preventer (20) has: a casing (41) formed by locally expanding the cross-sectional area of the air intake pathway; and an inner tube (42) substantially constructing a duct for the mainstream of air intake. The inner tube (42) is supported by a flange portion (50) and the downstream end (42a) opens within the casing (41). During backflow when the bypass pathway (17) opens, a portion of the intake air enters into an exit-side space section (55), and the flow is prevented by the flange portion (50). Consequently, reverse flow is suppressed.
