Abstract:
A welding-type device and gas system for use therewith are disclosed. The gas system of the welding-type device includes a canister that is constructed to contain a shielding gas therein and is connectable to the welding-type device. The canister is sized to be mounted to the welding-type device when it is attached thereto such that the welding-type device can be efficiently and conveniently transported from one location to another with the source of shielding gas securely affixed thereto.
Abstract:
A welding-type device and gas system for use therewith is disclosed. The welding-type device includes a power supply constructed to generate a welding-type power, a housing enclosing the power source, and a cylinder holder attached to an external surface of the housing. The device further includes a pressure vessel removably secured within the cylinder holder, the pressure vessel constructed to provide a shielding gas to a weld and having a height that is generally less than a height of the housing.
Abstract:
A wire feeder and gas system for use therewith is shown. The gas system of the wire feeder includes a canister that is constructed to contain a shielding gas therein and is connectable to the wire feeder. The canister is supported by the wire feeder when it is connected thereto such that the wire feeder can be efficiently and conveniently transported from one location to another with the source of shielding gas securely connected thereto.
Abstract:
A gas bottle for welding-type devices, a shielding gas system, and a method for providing shielding gas to a weld are disclosed. The gas bottle has a valve constructed to be connected to a welding-type device and is preferably formed to fit within a cavity of a welding-type device. The gas bottle is constructed to provide shielding gas to the welding-type device immediately upon connection of the gas bottle to the welding-type device thereby eliminating a manual valve.
Abstract:
A system, in some embodiments, includes a multi-torch power supply. The power supply has a first circuit configured to control output to a first electrical torch, and a second circuit configured to control output to a second electrical torch. The power supply also has a power source configured to supply power to the first and second circuits to enable both independent and simultaneous operation of the first and second electrical torches.
Abstract:
A spool gun having a quick connector connectable to an electrical power source and a gas source is disclosed. A connection line extends from the spool gun and is attached to a connector. The connector both fluidly connects the spool gun to a shielding gas source and electrically connects the spool gun to a power source constructed to generate a welding-type power. Such a spool gun is quickly and efficiently connectable to the gas and power systems required for performing welding processes.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a system is provided with a welding wire feeder that a first wheel having a first rotational direction, and a second wheel having a rotational direction opposite from the first rotational direction. The first and wheels are disposed compressively about a wire feed region, and the first and wheels are drivingly coupled together to output substantially equal tangential in the wire feed region. In addition, the first wheel, or the second wheel, or first and second wheels comprise a drive wheel directly coupled to a gear separately coupling both the drive wheel and the gear to a shaft.
Abstract:
An apparatus for initiating a welding arc during a lift arc start. The apparatus includes a power circuit to provide welding power to a power output, a background circuit to provide background power to the power output to maintain the welding arc during low power welding processes, and a controller. The background circuit is enabled prior to drawing the welding arc, thus providing a background voltage to the power output of the welding device. The background voltage is monitored such that the controller can detect when the welder has touched the electrode to the workpiece. Upon detection of a short, the controller enables the power circuit to provide a flow of output current to the power output.

Abstract:
A welder having an internal shielding gas regulator is disclosed. The welder has an internal gas cylinder and an internal regulator disposed in an enclosure. The welder may be equipped with an auxiliary shielding gas cylinder inlet so that a bulk shielding gas cylinder can be attached thereto and have a flow therefrom regulated by the internal shielding gas regulator. The welder constructed according to the invention is highly transportable, compact, and self-sufficient.
