    摘要: The invention includes methods and systems for use in a wireless communications system, such as a CDMA mobile communications system. A communications device transmits a wireless signal. A repeater system receives a first version of the wireless signal using a first receiver system and receives a second version of the wireless signal using a second receiver system. The repeater system switches between the first version of the wireless signal and the second version of the wireless signal to generate a third version of the wireless signal. The repeater system transmits the third version of the wireless signal and a base station system receives the third version of the wireless signal. In some embodiments of the invention, the wireless signals are Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) signals. In some embodiments of the invention, the switching occurs at a rate of 4 MHz.

    摘要: The invention includes methods and systems to improve the signal diversity between a repeater and a base station in a wireless communication system. A communications device transmits a wireless signal. The repeater receives two versions of the wireless signal using a first receiver system and a second receiver system. The repeater transmits two versions of the wireless signal that correspond to the two received versions. The repeater transmits the two versions with different signal polarizations so they can be isolated from one another at the base station. The base station receives the two versions from the repeater and isolates each version based on the difference in polarization. The base station processes the two diverse versions to produce a high-quality signal. The use of different polarizations to provide diverse signals between the repeater and the base station lowers signal power requirements and increases the capacity of CDMA systems.

Each frame consolidates the individual power receptacles into a single line cord by offering individual power control over each installed server. In one embodiment, a tolerable length of fiber optic cable between a repeater and a base station is determined. More particularly, a desired search window size in time is determined. A maximum fiber optic cable delay value is determined based on the desired search window size. Also, a ratio value of fiber optic cable delay value to fiber optic cable length is then determined. The tolerable length of the fiber optic cable is then determined based on the maximum fiber optic cable delay value and the ratio value.

    摘要: In a communications network, a network user communicates using a remote unit with another user via at least one base station. The network is comprised of first and second mobile switching control stations respectively controlling communications through a first set of base stations including a first base station and through a second set of base stations including a second base station. To direct communications between the remote unit and the first and second base stations the first base station measures a round trip delay of an active communication signal between the first base station and the remote unit. The remote unit measures a first phase offset of a pilot signal received from a first candidate base station and reports it to the first mobile switching center via the first base station. The first mobile switching center calculates a candidate round trip delay between the remote unit and the first candidate base station based on the first phase offset and the round trip delay of the active communication signal. A active communication control unit accesses a measurement directed hard handoff table to determine a location of the remote unit based on the round trip delay corresponding to the first active communication signal and the candidate round trip delay.
