    摘要: A plane commutator includes a plurality of commutator segments made of carbon compound, a resinous boss member having a body portion supporting a base portion of the commutator segments and an outer peripheral portion supporting an outer periphery of the same and a plurality of metal base plates. Each metal base plate has a contact portion in contact with the base portion of the commutator segment, an axial portion extending along a peripheral portion of the boss member and a terminal portion. The axial portion of the metal base plates is disposed on an outer periphery of the plane commutator in parallel with the outer peripheral portions of the boss member to separate the outer peripheral portion from the body portion. The outer peripheral portion moves freely from the body portion as the metal base plates thermally expand.

    摘要: An impeller is employed for a fuel pump and boosts a pressure of fuel by rotating the fuel in a pump passage formed in the fuel pump in a rotational direction of the impeller. The impeller includes a plurality of vane grooves formed adjacent to each other in the rotational direction of the impeller and a plurality of vanes formed adjacent to each other in the rotational direction. Each one of the plurality of vanes divides one of adjacent two of the plurality of vane grooves from the other. A difference between a maximal value and a minimum value of an adjacent vane angle is set in a range of 2.5° to 4°. A fuel pump includes a motor unit, the impeller, and a casing member. The impeller is rotated by rotation driving force of the motor unit. The casing member rotatably receives the impeller and defines the pump passage.

    摘要: An impeller has a plurality of blades at an outer periphery thereof. Each of the adjacent blades define a groove space, and a partition wall is provided in the groove space. The partition wall is disposed at a center area of the groove space in an axial direction of the impeller for partitioning the groove space from a root of the blade. The blade inclines backwardly in the rotating direction at the root side thereof, and inclines frontwardly in the rotating direction at a radial outer end side thereof. A front face is inwardly concaved from both axial ends, and warps from the root to the radial outer end of the blade to form the concave such that the concave gradually becomes small from the root to the radial outer end.

The pump passage is composed of a guiding passage section connected to the fuel inlet and pressure section connected between the guiding section and the fuel discharge port, and the guiding section has a first vapor discharge port disposed near the fuel inlet port and a second vapor discharge port disposed near the pressure passage section. Thus, fuel vapor is discharged from the first and second vapor discharge ports along with a small amount of the fuel returning to the fuel tank.

    摘要: A bearing for a fuel pump includes a sliding layer made of mainly carbon, and a supporting layer made of mainly carbon and a metal. The supporting layer is connected to the sliding layer to support the sliding layer. Because the sliding layer of the bearing is made of mainly carbon, corrosion resistance of the bearing can be improved. Further, the supporting layer improves the strength of the bearing. Accordingly, the bearing with the two-layer structure effectively improves the corrosion resistance while the strength thereof can be increased. The bearing can be suitably used for the fuel pump. In this case, the bearing is press-fitted to a casing member on the supporting layer, and a rotary shaft of the fuel pump is slidably held in the bearing on the sliding layer.

    摘要: When differential pressure between fuel flowing into a fuel control valve and fuel flowing out of the valve reaches a predetermined value, the biasing force of a compressed coil spring is countered and a shaft in the valve moves to the fuel upstream side so that a valve member is seated to terminate communication between the fuel inlet passage and the fuel outlet passage. This maintains fuel pressure at the fuel inlet passage and at the fuel outlet passage at different levels so that the fuel supply system maintains a high fuel pressure in the fuel rail to suppress fuel vapor generation during engine stoppage while also yet still providing an appropriate fuel injection pressure during rapid deceleration of the vehicle.

Thereafter, a target current value to be supplied to the motor of a fuel pump according to the target fuel pressure is obtained. In the succeeding step, an actual motor current is detected and, then, the target current value and the detcted current are compared. Thereafter, the supply current is controlled by feedback based upon the difference obtained by comparison between the target current value and the detected current value to eliminate the difference.

    摘要: An in-tank type fuel pump which can easily be installed and reduces the vibration caused by the fuel pump. The fuel pumped up by a pump part passes through a filter to have foreign matter contained therein removed. Then, the fuel flows from a fuel passage, through an opening part in a cap, into a recessed part and a second fuel passage. The fuel that has flowed into the second fuel passage lifts a check valve and flows into the recessed part. Then, the fuel flows through a third fuel passage to a discharge pipe, and then is guided to the outside of the fuel tank. A ball moves within a large-diameter passage according to the fuel pressure to regulate the fuel pressure required for fuel injection. When the fuel pumping is ceased, the fuel pressure falls to 0, and therefore the ball is forced to contact a valve seat by the spring force of a compression coil spring. Then, the head part of the check valve is forced to contact a valve seat to block the fuel passage. As a result, the residual fuel pressure can be maintained downstream from the recessed part.
