    摘要： A method and system that provides for the automatic identification of complementary retail items, based upon a selection of specific characteristics of a consumer's shopping pattern or history, is provided. More particularly, the present invention relates to a method and system that provides for a methodological analysis of selected shopping characteristics in relation to recognition of specific shopping patterns and/or purchased item relationships with customer-specific identified complementary items, and the automated generation and identification of product preferences and purchasing patterns specific to a select consumer. Additionally the present invention is readily used with point of sale (POS) terminals, kiosks and retail-based computer systems.

    摘要： Systems and corresponding methodologies that enable continuous, real-time or near real-time monitoring of joint activity of patients who are undergoing physical therapy is provided. A joint's motion patterns can be measured using a six degree of freedom combine accelerometer, magnometer and gyroscope sensors that are placed above and below (or in proximity of) the joint. The data is stored on a data logger that is carried by a patient, e.g., clipped to the patient's belt and can be uploaded onto a website when attached to a computer, e.g., via a USB cord. While portable sensors are available in the market for research or gaming purposes, one key feature of the device is to provide continuous monitoring of the injured joint and electronically relay this information to the therapist, for example, via the designated website. Thus, the therapist is always informed about the patient's joint and could recommend alterations to their treatment plan.

    摘要： A consumer maintains control of certain personal information via the consumer's decision to create, store and offer a retailer conditional access to certain portions of the consumer's identifying information. The consumer is able to set individualized conditions of how access may be acquired and in view of what exchange or offers the consumer wishes to see from the retailer. Upon the retailer's agreement to such conditions, a retailer may be provided access to certain portions of the consumer's identifying information. The retailer and consumer may also enter into an electronic negotiation if there is initial disagreement as to preferred terms in order to adequately value and assess one another's offers in view of the exchange. In so doing, a retailer is able to gain information and characteristics of retail activity from the consumer, and a consumer is able to be rewarded from the retailer for the value of the information provided.

    摘要： A shopping environment includes a server and a shopping device for broadcasting a wireless signal that identifies the identity of a shopper associated with the device. A network infrastructure conveys the wireless signal information to the server. A verification system is configured to detect the shopping device being in proximity to an exit of the shopping environment and to initiate precautionary action in response thereto. The shopping device may be enabled to permit the user to indicate purchase of an item and, responsive thereto, to communicate a purchase to the server as part of maintaining a virtual shopping cart of items selected for purchase by the shopper. The verification apparatus initiates the precautionary action if the shopper has not made payment arrangements. The verification apparatus is further enabled to display the number of items in the virtual shopping cart and the amount of time spent on the shopping trip.

    摘要： Systems and methods are provided for capturing and processing images of remittance coupons using a mobile device and obtaining data from the captured image which is used to set up or carry out payment of a bill that corresponds to the remittance coupon. Optimization and enhancement of image capture and image processing are provided on the mobile device to improve the initial quality of the captured image and provide a user with real time feedback. The image is then sent from the mobile device to a remote server, where additional image processing is performed to improve the quality of the image and then extract data from the image that is relevant to paying the bill. The extracted data may be verified through comparisons with databases which store information on billers, bill formats and other relevant content that will appear on the bill.
