摘要: A process is provided of delivering at least one active agent cargo molecule into an neuronal cell whereby a cargo molecule is placed within a synthetic vesicle such as a liposome and a biotinylated protein such as an antibody is bound to the synthetic vesicle to form a protein bound synthetic vesicle whereby the protein recognizes a receptor expressed on the surface of a neuronal cell, and exposing the protein bound synthetic vesicle to the cell until the cargo molecule is delivered into the neuronal cell. Numerous cargo molecules are delivered by the inventive synthetic vesicle including a calpain inhibitor and a caspase inhibitor. The protein illustratively targets a cellular receptor for a ligand such as glutamate, glycine, dopamine, nicotine, muscarine, acetylcholine, or serotonin, and the like.

摘要: Processes and materials are provided for the detection, diagnosis, or determination of the severity of a neurological injury or condition, including traumatic brain injury, multiple-organ injury, stroke, Alzeimer's disease, Pakinson disease and Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE). The processes and materials include biomarkers detected or measured in a biological sample such as whole blood, serum, plasma, or CSF. Such biomarkers include Tau and GFAP proteins, their proteolytic breakdown products, brain specific or enriched micro-RNA, and brain specific or enriched protein directed autoantibodies. The processes and materials are operable to detect the presence of absence of acute, subacute or chronic brain injuries and predict outcome for the brain injury.

摘要: A process of tissue regeneration is provided that includes the administration of a stem cell topically to a surface of a tissue. The tissue being in vivo in a subject or in vitro. The tissue has a biocompatible matrix applied around the stem cell and in contact with the surface. After sufficient time, the stem cell infiltrates and regenerates the tissue. A composition is also provided that includes an injured or diseased tissue with a plurality of stem cells proximal to the tissue surface in a biocompatible. A process of increasing a level of cytokines, chemokines, growth factors, anti-apoptotic or anti-necrotic factors in a tissue is provided that includes the administration of a stem cell topically to a surface of a tissue in a biocompatible matrix. After sufficient time, the stem cell releases soluble pro-regenerative factors to increase the levels in the tissue.

摘要: A process of measuring blast shock includes exposing a shock model to an output of a shockwave generator. The propagation of the output is sensed with a sensor platform to generate sensor wave propagation data. The data recorded by the sensor platform is analyzed to measure the blast shock. The blast shock alone or as a component of a cumulative blast exposure can be correlated with an injury metric. A system for measuring cumulative blast shock is provided that includes a sensor platform and an algorithm operating on a microprocessor for analyzing the data recorded by the sensor platform to measure the cumulative blast exposure to injury metrics.
