摘要: The problem solving skills development system is used, for example, as a puzzle or game, to develop problem solving or analytical skills in visually impaired individuals. The system includes a supporting board having sliding pieces arranged in a grid, for example, a 4 by 4 grid of 15 sliding pieces and one empty position. The sliding pieces include tactilly recognizable regions that are arranged into a predetermined pattern by sliding and shifting the appropriate pieces. The tactilly recognizable regions can include characters, such as letters that can be arranged to form words or phrases, numbers that can be arranged in numerical order, or any other symbols. Some of the tactilly recognizable regions can also include blank surfaces to make the puzzle easier for individuals at lower ages or abilities. The system preferably includes tactile recognition blocks that have the tactilly recognizable regions and that can be removably engaged with the sliding pieces. The tactile recognition blocks can thereby be used to adapt the system to be used as different types of puzzles with different degrees of difficulty.

摘要: A particulate fabric softening composition, comprising one or more ethylenediamine fatty acid diamides and one or more quaternary ammonium salt fabric softeners, the composition having an exothermal transition at a temperature between 60 and 90° C. with an exothermal transition enthalpy of more than 5 J/g measured by DSC with a heating rate of 2° C./min, can be press shaped to multiple use, dryer added fabric softening articles having high initial surface hardness. The fabric softening composition can be made by cooling a molten mixture comprising one or more ethylenediamine fatty acid diamides and one or more quaternary ammonium salt fabric softeners to a temperature of 40° C. or less at a high cooling rate.

摘要: The invention is an outdoor electrical cord connection protector. A pair of mated covers is at least partially hinged along a common access. Each mated cover provides a snap together wire entrance at one end and a wire exit at the other end of the snap together covers. Each wire entrance and wire exit opens to a snap together plug opening adapted to hold at least two mated plugs of an outdoor string of decorative lights. A seal can be affixed to each of the entrances of the protector. The seals help keep the protector water tight and well as protect against other environmental hazards such as dirt, bugs, etc.

摘要: A pumping system for moving water of a swimming pool includes a water pump, an infinitely variable speed motor, and an arrangement for operating the motor. In one example, the pumping system includes a memory configured to store a plurality of retained speed values, an arrangement for providing a plurality of retained speed values to the memory, and an arrangement for reading a selected one of the plurality of retained speed values from the memory. In addition or alternatively, the pumping system includes a storage medium for digitally storing a plurality of pre-established motor speed values and an arrangement for receiving input from a user to select one of the pre-established motor speeds. In addition or alternatively, the pumping system further includes an arrangement for restarting operation of the motor at a previously selected speed value when power supplied to the motor is interrupted during operation of the motor. A method for controlling the pumping system is also provided.

摘要: A pumping system for moving water of a swimming pool includes a water pump, a variable speed motor, and an arrangement for controlling the variable speed motor. The pumping system further includes an auxiliary device operably connected to the arrangement for controlling, and an arrangement for providing two-way communication between the arrangement for controlling and the auxiliary device. The arrangement for controlling is capable of receiving a parameter from the auxiliary device through the arrangement for providing two-way communication. In one example, the arrangement for controlling is capable of independently controlling the variable speed motor without receipt of a parameter from the auxiliary device. In addition or alternatively, the arrangement for controlling is operable to selectively alter operation of the motor based upon the parameter. In addition or alternatively, the arrangement for controlling is configured to optimize a power consumption of the variable speed motor over time based upon the parameters received. A method for controlling the pumping system is also provided.

摘要: A torpedo level is adapted for use with a non-metallic material such as PVC pipe by providing an attachment device for temporarily affixing the torpedo level in engaging relationship with the plastic pipe without any attendance. In one embodiment, the affixing device is an attachment strip extending along a planar side of the torpedo level and having an adhesive material on its outer side. A cover is adapted to protect the adhesive material when not in use. Another attachment device is a plurality of suction cups which are secured to the planar side and temporarily attachable to a plastic pipe. Another alternative is one or more Velcro straps which are attached to the body of the torpedo level by way of slots formed therein and which are selectably wrapped around a pipe for securing the torpedo level thereto.
