摘要： A synthetic polymer has a water-soluble or water-swellable polymer backbone and terminal groups and/or intermediate groups of blocks of hydrophobes of alkyl- or aryl compounds containing a polymerizable cyclic monomer or a polymerizable double bond (or alkene) group or derivatives thereof. The blocks of hydrophobes are composed of two or more units of the same or different hydrophobes. These synthetic polymers are used as rheology modifiers, especially in latex paints.

摘要： An aqueous dispersion includes an associative thickener based on a hydrophobically modified poly(acetal- or ketal-polyether) (HM-PAPE) and at least one viscosity reducing agent selected from ethoxylated alcohols, ethoxylated acetyleneic diols, phosphate esters, dialkyl sulfosuccinates, and mixtures thereof. This aqueous dispersion improves the incorporation of the HM-PAPEs into aqueous based protective coatings. This dispersion also improves water-borne coating compositions that optionally contain latex.

摘要： This invention is directed toward cream compositions containing hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC), hydroxypropyl cellulose (HPC), methyl hydroxyethyl cellulose(MHEC), methyl cellulose (MC) or ethyl cellulose (EC), and their blends with water-soluble or water-swellable hydrocolloids. The cream compositions are useful in both dairy and non-dairy product compositions. The cream composition can be subjected to thermal processing to produce packaged products which are shelf-stable. The cream compositions are also useful in producing whipped compositions which exhibit a desirable appearance and amount of overrun.
