摘要:
A liquid discharging head includes a discharge port for discharging liquid, a liquid passage communicated with the discharge port, a bubble generating area for generating a bubble in the liquid in the liquid passage, the bubble generating area including a heater for heating the liquid in the liquid passage, and a movable member disposed in a confronting relation to the bubble generating area in the liquid passage and adapted to be shifted by pressure caused by generating the bubble at the bubble generating area to direct the pressure toward the discharge port and to be returned to its initial position by negative pressure due to contraction of the bubble, and wherein resistance of the movable member against the liquid in the liquid passage when it is shifted is smaller than that when it is returned.

A liquid ejection method including the steps of preparing a head comprising an ejection outlet, a bubble generation region, a movable member faced to the bubble generation region and displaceable from a first position to a second position further from the bubble generation region than the first position; displacing the movable member from the first position to the second position by pressure produced by the generation of the bubble to permit greater expansion of the bubble downstream as compared to upstream; and supplying a driving pulse to generate each bubble, wherein the pulse is divided into a first pulse for pre-heating the liquid and a second pulse for ejecting the liquid.
摘要:
A liquid ejection method involves supplying liquid along a heat generating element disposed along a flow path from upstream of the heat generating element, applying heat generated by the heat generating element to the thus supplied liquid to generate a bubble, thus moving a free end of a movable member having the free end adjacent the ejection outlet side by pressure produced by the bubble, the movable member facing the heat generating element, supplying, to a heat generating element for applying thermal energy to the bubble generating region, a driving pulse divided into a first pulse and an adjacent second pulse with interval time therebetween, pre-heating the liquid by the first pulse to an extent insufficient to eject liquid through the ejection outlet, and generating a bubble by heating the liquid by the second pulse to eject the liquid through the ejection outlet. The method also includes ejecting liquid in an amount determined by controlling a degree of pre-heating of the liquid by changing at least one of a width of the first pulse or the interval time. The change rate of the ejection amount of the liquid increases non-linearly with an increase of the width of the first pulse or an increase of the interval time period. Recording heads and apparatuses control the ejection amount of liquid in like manner.
摘要:
A liquid discharging method is provided with heat generating elements for creating air bubbles for discharging liquid, discharge ports arranged corresponding to the heat generating elements, first liquid flow paths conductively connected with the discharge ports, second liquid flow paths arranged corresponding to the heat generating elements, and a separation wall to separate the first and second liquid flow paths. This separation wall is provided with the free end, which is caused to be displaced to the first liquid flow side by pressure exerted by air bubbles created by the heat generating elements, thus leading the pressure toward the discharge port side for discharging liquid from the discharge ports. For this liquid discharging method, liquids are supplied to the second liquid flow paths and to the first liquid flow paths from different sides, respectively, in order to stabilize the flow of liquid for the enhancement of the discharging efficiency and power, while reducing the influence of cavitation with respect to the heat generating elements to make the life thereof longer.

A liquid ejecting method using a liquid ejection head having a movable member disposed faced to a bubble generating region and having a free end at a downstream side thereof with respect to a flow direction of liquid, wherein the free end of the movable member is displaced by a pressure generated by a bubble in the bubble generating region, and the pressure is directed toward an ejection outlet by the movable member to eject the liquid through the ejection outlet, the improvement residing in that: the free end of the movable member providing a substantially harmetically sealed state for the bubble generating region, is displaced so as to guide a pressure wave resulting from the bubble formation toward the ejection outlet while non-contact state is substantially maintained between the movable member and the bubble.
