    摘要: An improved torque converter assembly utilizing or making use of the same or similar composite materials for each component of the torque converter to result in a high strength yet light weight torque converter assembly which may be easily recycled. Further, the torque converter includes a unique hub member having integral fingers radially extending therefrom for use in bonding hub member to a multi-bladed body such as a turbine, wherein the fingers are circumferentially spaced about an outer circumferential surface on the hub member such that the spacing between a common finger and adjacent fingers on each side thereof is not equal. Such a hub member distributes the loads and stresses onto different planes extending radially and transverse the longitudinal axis of the hub member.

The volume of the storage chamber may be altered and is sealed to the outside by a gasket. At least one compressible displacement member is included in the storage chamber to offset changes in volume. This displacement member is made of a closed-celled soft foam with a non-porous surface layer.

    摘要: A seal of an elastomeric material used to mount an intake manifold in a gas-tight manner on the cylinder head of an internal combustion engine is disclosed. The seal is formed to blend together in one piece and is located in position on the side of the intake-manifold flange facing the cylinder head. The seal has sealing surfaces, which sealingly surround the periphery of the intake pipes of the intake manifold during normal operational use. The intake manifold comprises a dimensionally stable induction pipe body having at least one first flow-through opening and at least one first adjusting element arranged in the first flow-through opening to vary the available cross-sectional area of the passage. This adjusting element takes the form of a throttle valve, which is rotatably supported in the induction pipe body and which is capable of being forced to engage sealingly with the boundary wall of the first flow-through opening. In the area of the throttle valve, the induction pipe body has at least one second flow-through opening, which is allocated as a by-pass so as to be adjacent to the first flow-through opening, said second flow-through opening being capable of being sealed by at least one second adjusting element, which is comprised of a one-way valve that is only able to be forced into an open position in the direction of the attached combustion engine.

The equalization element comprises an inner tappet and an outer tappet arranged to move relative to one another in the axial direction. A displacement element to equalize volume changes is enclosed in the storage space. The outside tappet is formed by an essentially tube-shaped mantle of thermoplastic material, which has slide surfaces radially inside and outside.
