Over a portion of their circumference the outer flow channels (58) are connected with the conveying channels (44) and, together with them, a pressure build-up in the direction of rotation (11) of the impeller wheel (12) approximately corresponding to the pressure build-up in the conveying channels (44) takes place, so that there is essentially no pressure difference between them, by means of which the entry of dirt into the area between the outer ring (36) of the impeller wheel (12) and the front walls (26, 28) is prevented.

The two radially-extending side walls (12,13) are provided with respective groove-like side channels (20,21) concentric to the pump axis (22) and open to the pump chamber (11). Each radially-extending side wall (12,13) has an intervening portion (23) between a channel end (212) and a channel beginning (211). The outer ring (30) and the peripheral wall (14) bound a radial space (32,32') between them and the outer ring (30) includes a circumferential radial gap (34) or a plurality of throughgoing passages (37) for providing a fluid flow between a number, advantageously all, of the impeller chambers (31) and the radial space (32,32').

    摘要: The flow pump has an impeller (22), revolving in a pump chamber, which on each of its two axially oriented face ends (28, 29), has one ring of vanes (30) between which interstices (31) are located, and which cooperates with a feed channel (34) associated with the vanes (30) for pumping the fuel. When viewed in the radial direction relative to the rotary axis (24) of the impeller (22), the vanes (30) are positioned obliquely with respect to the rotary axis (24) in such a way that they lead ahead in the circumferential direction (21) of the impeller (22) toward the face end (28, 29) of the impeller (22). The vanes (30) and the rotary axis (24) of the impeller (22) form an angle (.alpha.) of between 25.degree. and 70.degree. that is oriented in the circumferential direction (21) of the impeller (22). Because of this obliquely positioned arrangement of the vanes (30), an improved inflow of the pumped fuel into the interstices (31) between the vanes (30) is effected, compared with an arrangement of vanes (30) that is parallel to the rotary axis (24), and as a result an increased feed pressure and improved efficiency of the flow pump are attained.

    摘要: The apparatus for supplying fuel includes a fuel tank and a fuel feed unit in the fuel tank. The fuel feed unit has a main housing, a suction cover arranged in a bottom part of the main housing, a fuel pump and a degassing valve arranged in the suction cover for degassing the fuel pump. The fuel pump itself includes an impeller housing with a circular passage for fuel flow and an electric-motor-driven impeller. The impeller housing is arranged in the main housing and next to the suction cover and it is provided with a degassing passage connecting the circular passage with the degassing valve. To improve starting behavior the fuel feed unit has a degassing valve in the suction cover, which is connected with the circular passage of the impeller housing by a degassing passage. The degassing valve opens to the fuel tank when pressure in the degassing passage exceeds a predetermined value for degassing the fuel pump. The degassing valve can be a spring-loaded ball valve in which the compression spring bearing on the ball provides a predetermined counter-force so that the degassing valve is kept open during idle and start of impeller rotation until degassing is complete.
