摘要： An image forming apparatus includes an image forming device for forming an image on a recording material in an image forming position. A recording material feeder is provided for feeding the recording material to the image forming position, the recording material feeder including a recording material carrying member for carrying the recording material. A supply device is provided for supplying the recording material to the recording material carrying member at a recording material supply position, a first urging member urges a second surface of the recording material carrying member which is opposite from a first surface thereof for carrying the recording material in the recording material supply position, and a second urging member urges the second surface at the image forming position, and wherein an urging force of the second urging member is not less than an urging force of the first urging member.

摘要： An image forming apparatus comprises: an image forming unit to form an image onto a recording medium; a measuring unit to measure a density of the image formed on the recording medium; a controller to execute an image stabilizing control to decide image forming conditions of the image forming unit on the basis of the image density measured by the measuring unit; a heater to heat a load by supplying a current to the image forming apparatus; and a detector to detect a temperature of the load which is heated by the heater, wherein the controller controls the execution of the image stabilizing control in accordance with an output of the detector at the start of the power supply to the apparatus. When the detected temperature of the load is less than a predetermined value, the image stabilizing control is executed. When it is equal to or higher than the predetermined value, the image stabilizing control is not performed. When the image stabilizing control is executed, the control means allows the image forming unit to form a sample image and the image forming conditions are controlled on the basis of the state of the sample image.

A storage unit stores the operation condition determined by the control unit, and a display unit reads out the operation condition at a predetermined time for display. When the information indicating linkage is not stored in the storage unit, the transmitting unit stores the information indicating linkage and transmits the control signal for controlling power state of the external device to the second power state to the external device. When the information indicating linkage is stored in the storage unit, the transmitting unit refrains from transmitting the control signal to the external device.

摘要： A method of reproducing an image file from a recording medium that stores an image file of a first type and/or an image file of a second type includes reproducing the first type of image file or second type of image file, detecting whether each of a predetermined number of image files stored on the recording medium is the first type of image file or the second type of image file during the reproduction of an image file, and converting the second type of image file to the first type of image file by reading the main image data from the second type of image file, generating display-image data (image data for display use) based on the read main image data, and storing the generated display-image data in the original image file if the image file is determined to be the second type of image file based on the detection result. The first type of image file is an image file containing a header, main image data, and display-image data, and storing the display-image data in an area other than an area storing the header. The second type of image file is an image file containing a header and main image data, and storing no display-image data in an area other than an area storing the header. The image files of predetermined number being image files that can be reproduced when reproduction is done in the forward and/or reverse direction from the image file being reproduced.

摘要： An optical fiber is rolled by a swing motion of a swing guide roller in order to impart a predetermined twist to it effectively, and its polarization dispersion is suppressed equivalently as in a perfectly circular concentric optical fiber. A method of manufacturing such an optical fiber is also provided. As a swing guide roller swings, the optical fiber is rolled on its roller surface, so that a clockwise twist and a counterclockwise twist are imparted to the optical fiber alternately. At this time, the optical fiber is fitted in a V-shaped narrow groove formed at the central portion of the roller surface of a next-stage first stationary guide roller provided just beside the swing guide roller. Rolling of the optical fiber on the roller surface of the first stationary guide roller is suppressed, thereby helping smooth rolling of the optical fiber on the roller surface of the swing guide roller. As a result, a twist can be imparted to the optical fiber highly efficiently in accordance with the swing speed of the swing guide roller.
