    Abstract: An image forming apparatus uses a first developer conveyance amount and a first correction amount calculated respectively in a first state, a second developer conveyance amount and a second correction amount calculated respectively in a second state in which the developer conveyance amount is smaller than the developer conveyance amount of the first state, and a third developer conveyance amount detected in a third state in which the developer conveyance amount is smaller than the developer conveyance amount of the first state and is larger than the developer conveyance amount of the second state to calculate a third correction amount for correcting density unevenness of the toner image in the third state, and perform control to correct the density unevenness of the toner image based on the calculated third correction amount.

    Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image carrier; an exposure device which draws an electrostatic latent image on the image carrier; a developer which uses a developing roller facing the image carrier to supply a developing agent to the electrostatic latent image formed on the image carrier and to develop a toner image; a developing current detector which detects a developing current flowing between the image carrier and the developing roller during developing by the developer; and a controller which controls the above. The controller performs forced toner discharge control in which a predetermined toner image is developed on the image carrier by the developer and the toner is forcibly discharged from the developer. The controller controls a toner discharge amount in the forced toner discharge control based on a current value detected by the developing current detector.

    Abstract: The image forming apparatus includes an image bearing member, a developing section, and a controller that functions as a sign detector, a charge amount measurement section, and a charge amount adjuster. On the image bearing member, an electrostatic latent image is formed based on image data. The developing section contains a developer, and develops the electrostatic latent image formed on the image bearing member with the developer to form a toner image. The sign detector detects a sign that the charge amount of the developer contained in the developing section changes. The charge amount measurement section measures the charge amount of the developer in accordance with the detection result by the sign detector. The charge amount adjuster adjusts the charge amount of the developer according to the measurement result by the charge amount measurement section.
