摘要： A composite magnetic head device includes a recording head and a reproducing head for magnetically recording and reproducing information on and from a recording medium, and further includes heat sources for heating the recording medium when recording and reproducing. As the heat sources, diffraction grating patterns for the recording head and the reproducing head are formed independently. With this structure, when recording and reproducing information based on the thermal distribution of the recording medium heated by the heat sources, the thermal damage on the recording medium can be suppressed, and the likelihood of such problem that the recording medium is heated too much and the information recorded in the heated portion are erased can be prevented.

In a video signal detection circuit, at least one of features of the inputted video signal, for example, average amplitude, maximum amplitude, a horizontal synchronizing signal, or a vertical synchronizing signal is detected, and when a result of the detection meets a predetermined condition, the high voltage applied to the two ends of the spacers is decreased, thereby the current flowing into the spacers is decreased.

摘要： A plurality of transducers is arranged successively on a common impedance matching layer of a resilient material. Each transducer comprises an elongated piezoelectric element having a width expansion vibrational mode, a pair of first and second electrodes attached to opposite surfaces of the element across its thickness and an elongated block of an impedance matching material disposed between the second electrode and the common impedance matching layer. The common impedance matching layer is bent to take the shape of an arch to conform to the surface of a frame structure which is convexed in the direction of propagation of ultrasonic energy. The piezoelectric elements are secured to the frame so that they bridge the parallel side members of the frame. The piezoelectric members are divided into a plurality of subgroups, each composed of successively arranged elements. The piezoelectric elements of a given subgroup are selected and energized during each clock interval for transmission of focused ultrasonic energy. The subgroup to be selected is shifted linearly to the next by at least one element in response to successive clock pulses. Becuase of the convex shape of the array, the transmitted energy is successively angulated to provide arc scan.

When the video signal has a constant horizontal level, the voltage generation circuit applies the drive voltage that shows a stepwise waveform of which the level is changed step-by-step from one end of a first lines, for example the scan lines, to the other end, and wherein a width of one stage of the stepwise pattern corresponds to a number from 3 to 99 times widths of the electron sources arranged in the first line's direction.

摘要： A method and associated apparatus are disclosed for scanning documents and producing electronically stored signals corresponding to images on the documents. A stripe pattern of lines obliquely inclined relative to the direction of document movement provides precise indications of "pel" increments of document displacement relative to the image sensing apparatus. Using these indications, the system is effectively rendered insensitive to interruptions of document motion and/or variations in document motion speed. For example, this enables a system having limit buffer storage capacity to capture a full document image; by intermittently scanning portions of the image which fill the store, and halting document motion between scans of successive portions to allow for processing of the partial image data between the buffer store and other parts of the system's memory.
