    摘要: A control device in a suspension having a link rod includes a pair of fluid-sealed bushings provided on the respective opposite ends of the link rod and having hydraulically adjustable compliances, a valve mechanism for varying the compliances of the fluid-sealed bushings, an actuator for actuating the valve mechanism, and a control mechanism for controlling the actuator. The control mechanism includes a first sensor for detecting the acceleration of vertical vibrations of the vehicle body and generating a signal commensurate with the detected acceleration, a bandpass filter connected to the first sensor for transmitting a signal having a frequency range in the vicinity of the natural frequency of the sprung mass of the vehicle, a second sensor for detecting the steering angle of the steering wheel and generating a signal commensurate with the detected steering angle, a third sensor for detecting when the vehicle is braked and generating a signal when the vehicle is braking, and a circuit for processing the signals from the bandpass filter, the second sensor, and the third sensor to control the actuator based on the processed signals. The control device can control the compliances of the bushings dependent on the road conditions and the conditions in which the vehicle is operated.

    摘要: A fluid-filled bushing with variable damping forces includes an inner tube, an outer tube, an elastomeric body joining the inner and outer tubes, a plurality of fluid chambers defined by the elastomeric body between the inner and outer tubes in circumferentially spaced relationship, a fluid passage for providing communication between the fluid chambers, a valve disposed in the inner tube for controlling fluid flow through the fluid passage, and a valve actuator for actuating the valve. The fluid passage includes a plurality of first passages defined in the inner tube and each communicating with one of the fluid chambers, and a plurality of second passages defined in the valve and communicable with the first fluid passages, respectively, the second fluid passages cooperating with the first fluid passages in varying cross-sectional areas thereof. A flange is provided on the inner tube at one axial end thereof for attachment to a vehicle frame, and a valve actuator is mounted on the flange remotely from the inner tube for actuating the valve.

    摘要: In an automatic driving apparatus, a storage unit is responsive to a storing mode signal for storing as model driving data steering and running states of the vehicle corresponding to elapsed time in a storing mode. In response to an automatic driving mode signal, a setting unit compares the steering and running states stored in the storage unit and steering and running states of the vehicle detected in an automatic driving mode so as to set at least one automatic steering state data. In the automatic driving mode, the model driving data stored in the storage unit can be reproduced with the vehicle's steering system set to an automatically operating state, and the vehicle can be steered automatically in accordance with the model driving data, so that highly convenient, efficient and reliable automatic driving are achieved in automatic garaging of the vehicle etc. with a simple structure that would otherwise require high-level skill of the vehicle driver. The apparatus further includes an electric power steering apparatus that is used for controlling steering of the vehicle on the basis of the automatic steering state data supplied by the setting unit. The use of the electric power steering apparatus substantially simplifies the structure of the automatic driving apparatus.

    摘要: In a steering control system for a motor vehicle, the magnitude of the steering assist torque is reduced from a normal value by a value depending on the ratio of the steering angle to a maximum permissible steering angle which is determined according to the frictional coefficient between the road surface and the road wheels so that excessive steering, which may otherwise occur on a slipper road surface, can be avoided. Additionally, the value by which the steering assist torque is reduced is increased with an increase in the steering speed so that a certain damping effect may be achieved in the system. This is particularly beneficial in preventing any ill effect which may arise when the steering wheel has a large mass of inertia, for instance by being equipped with an air bag system.

    摘要: For better handling and improved riding comfort of a vehicle, there is provided a compound suspension system comprising a plurality of hydraulic shock absorbers each having a front chamber and a back chamber defined in front of and behind a piston member, respectively, received in a cylinder member, and a valve structure provided in each of the shock absorbers for selectively communicating the chambers to a conduit which is common to at least one other shock absorber, wherein: the valve structure comprises a valve element provided with a first part for varying a degree of communication between the front chamber and the common conduit and a second part for varying a degree of communication between the front chamber and the back chamber. The valve element is provided with two sets of openings which are spaced longitudinally from each other so as to cooperate with different ports provided in the piston rod as the valve element is turned about its longitudinal center by means of a control rod which extends longitudinally through a central bore of the piston rod.
