A multi-standby mobile terminal and a method for providing a host function between different networks in a multi-standby mobile terminal are provided. The method includes creating a call from a first mobile terminal, as a multi-standby mobile terminal, to a second mobile terminal on a first network and to a third mobile terminal on a second network, outputting a received voice signal through a speaker from the first mobile terminal, when the voice signal is received from one of the second mobile terminal and third mobile terminal, and, transmitting, from the first mobile terminal, the received voice signal through a loopback process to the one of the second mobile terminal and third mobile terminal that does not transmit the voice signal.

Provided is a method for saving power of a portable device that exists in a location where a fixed telephone network is available, the method including transferring a mobile communication network-based call connection request message transmitted to the portable device into a fixed telephone network-based call connection request message; and receiving the transferred call connection request message in a fixed telephone network support communication module included in the portable device, and forming a fixed telephone network-based call channel in place of the mobile communication network based call.

A dual mobile handset supporting CDMA and GSM communication and call processing method for the dual mode mobile handset, implemented to receive CDMA and GSM calls and process CDMA and GSM signals using different applications, thereby adaptively receiving the CDMA and GSM calls, are provided. The dual mode mobile handset includes first and second transceivers for receiving and transmitting first and second communication mode calls, respectively; first and second controllers for assigning first and second communication mode call identifiers to a call received through the first and second communication mode transceivers, respectively; a user interface module for activating one of call processing applications for the first and second communication mode calls on the basis of the call identifier assigned to the received call; and an inter-process communication module for matching one of the first and second controller to the user interface module.

A multiparty call processing method for a mobile terminal detects a call request to a first network, determines whether the mobile terminal is in a full state of the first network, and sends a call request message to a second network when the mobile terminal is in the full state of the first network.

Disclosed is a video display appliance from which a video signal processing unit and a PC signal processing unit are separated and to which the separated signal processing units are detachably connected or connected by a communication cable. The video display appliance includes an interface receiving a digital video signal to be displayed on the panel and a detection signal indicating a connection state of the signal processing apparatus from the signal processing apparatus, a microcomputer for controlling operation of the video display appliance according to the detection signal transmitted from the interface, a scaler for converting a video signal transmitted from the interface to match a resolution of the panel under the control of the microcomputer, and a driving circuit for driving the panel by using the video signal inputted from the scaler. The signal processing apparatus can be detachably connected to the video display appliance.

A system and method for providing e-mail address information using a mobile phone number are provided. The system includes an e-mail address information providing module that stores e-mail address mapping information for variably mapping e-mail address information including one or more e-mail addresses of each of members, who are registered in an e-mail address information providing service that provides specified e-mail address information to be mapped to a mobile phone number, to a mobile phone number of each member, recognizes a member corresponding to a mobile phone number which is received via a communication network with a request for e-mail address information, and acquires and provides specified e-mail address information to be mapped to the received mobile phone number based on the member's e-mail address mapping information; and an e-mail address converting module that converts the mobile phone number into the specified e-mail address information.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus including a system for cylindrical or polar coordinate movement of a material or laser beam whereby the material is engraved with an image upon a rotary table. The rotary table is connected to a translation stage. The movement of the translation stage is coordinated with the rotation of the rotary table and the firing of the laser to effectively allow engraving of a material in a series of concentric circles. The system allows high-speed and high-resolution laser engraving. The system is also simpler and cheaper than conventional X-Y methods and apparatus. The method and apparatus are useful for photographic quality laser engraving.
