Abstract:
An efficient and safe ionizer is disclosed. The ionizer includes a circuit to generate high voltage, a circuit case to surround the circuit, an electrode disposed outside of the circuit case and caused to discharge electricity by the high voltage generated by the circuit to ionize molecules in air, and an electrode cover disposed at a portion around the electrode.
Abstract:
An electric dust collecting device and an air conditioner having the same are disclosed. The electric dust collecting device includes a first filter unit including a plurality of discharge electrode plates which are spaced apart from each other and have spaces defined therebetween, a high voltage generator electrically connected to all of the plurality of discharge electrode plates, and a second filter unit disposed downstream of the first filter unit in an air flow direction and connected to a ground to cause corona discharge between the discharge electrode plates and the second filter unit, whereby particles electrically charged by corona discharge are collected at the second filter unit. The first filter unit has a simplified structure, and cleaning effect is improved.
Abstract:
A nanofiber filter may include a pleated base; and a nanofiber attached to the base by electrospinning. The nanofiber may be attached onto the base while the pleated base is in a flattened state. A method for manufacturing the nanofiber filter is also provided.

Abstract:
Disclosed is an air cleaning device for air conditioners. The air cleaning device includes a charging unit, and a dust collector including ground bodies and high voltage applied bodies forming a potential difference with the ground bodies, and disposed after the charging unit in an air flow direction, the charging unit includes a charging unit body and carbon fiber electrodes installed on the charging unit body, and a hydrophilic layer is formed on the outer surface of at least one of the ground bodies and the high voltage applied bodies. The air cleaning device may minimize an amount of generated ozone and an amount of generated ions, as compared to a case having a charging unit in which electrical discharge wires and opposite electrodes are alternately disposed, and increase dust collection efficiency with a simple structure and at low costs.
Abstract:
An electric dust collecting device according to the invention includes an electric charging unit for electrically charging dust in air, a first filter unit including a plurality of discharge electrode plates spaced apart from each other to define passages therebetween through which dust electrically charged by the electric charging unit passes, and a second filter unit disposed downstream of the plurality of discharge electrode plates in an air flow direction and connected to a ground to cause corona discharge between the plurality of discharge electrode plates and the second filter unit and to collect electrically charged dust. Dust particles electrically charged by the electric charging unit pass through the passages of the first filter unit and then are collected at the second filter unit, and dust particles electrically charged between the first filter unit and the second filter unit are electrically charged by the second filter unit, thus improving electric charging efficiency and dust collecting efficiency.
Abstract:
The electric dust collector includes a dust collection unit for collecting electrified dust particles and a dust collection unit case for receiving the dust collection unit. The dust collection unit includes a plurality of films for generating an electric field and a fixing part for fixing the films in the dust collection unit case. Each of the films is formed in the shape of a band that is longer in the longitudinal direction than in the lateral direction, and the films are arranged so as to face each other such that gaps are formed between the respective films. The fixing part includes a gap maintenance part disposed on at least one side of a group of films in the lateral direction for maintaining the gaps. The gap maintenance part includes a plurality of vertical bars to be inserted into the gaps from the one side of the group of films.
Abstract:
An electric dust collector is disclosed. The electric dust collector includes a film for collecting electrified dust particles and a case for receiving the film. A conductor-receiving part defining an insertion space, into which a portion of the film is inserted, is provided in the case. The electric dust collector further includes an electrode connection part filling the insertion space in the state of being in contact with the film. The electrode connection part is electrically connected to a voltage source to apply voltage in order to the film.
