    Abstract: A washing machine is configured to perform washing using carbon dioxide and includes a first housing that defines an inner space and an opening, a drum disposed in the inner space of the first housing and configured to accommodate laundry, a barrier that covers the opening of the first housing and is coupled to the first housing, a second housing that covers a surface of the barrier and is coupled to the first housing, and a motor assembly coupled to the barrier. The motor assembly includes a stator, a rotor configured to rotate the drum, a bearing housing, a rotary shaft disposed in the bearing housing, the rotary shaft having a first end coupled to the rotor and a second end coupled to the drum, and a first sealing part and a second sealing part that are disposed in the bearing housing and coupled to the rotary shaft.

    Abstract: A scroll compressor includes a main housing. A driving part configured to generate torque and a compression part driven by the driving part are accommodated in the main housing. The compression part includes a fixed scroll and an orbiting scroll that engages with the fixed scroll to form a compression chamber in which a refrigerant is compressed. The torque of the driving part is transmitted to the compression part by a driving shaft. The driving shaft is rotatably supported by a main bearing positioned in a low pressure region adjacent to the driving part. Accordingly, since the main bearing is disposed in a low pressure region, a load applied to the main bearing may be decreased.

    Abstract: A motor operated compressor includes an orbiting scroll that defines a compression chamber together with a fixed scroll. The compressor includes a main frame disposed around and supporting the orbiting scroll. The main frame defines a back-pressure chamber together with the orbiting scroll. The compressor includes a groove disposed in one of the orbiting scroll and the main frame. A first sealing member is inserted into the groove. A second sealing member is inserted into the groove to elastically press the first sealing member into close contact with the orbiting scroll or the main frame. A radial distance (a) between an outer wall of the groove and the first sealing member is 6 to 8% (0.06≤a/W≤0.08) of a difference (W) between an outer radius (OR) and an inner radius (IR) of the first sealing member (W=OR−IR).

    Abstract: An electric compressor includes a main housing including a motor chamber. The motor chamber includes a driving motor. The compressor includes a frame fixed to one end of the main housing, a first scroll supported by one side surface of the frame, and a second scroll provided between the frame and the first scroll. The second scroll, supported by the frame, makes an orbiting motion upon receiving a rotational force from the driving motor. The second scroll also forms a compression chamber with the first scroll and a back pressure space with the frame. A rear cover coupled to the main housing forms a discharge space with the first scroll. A back pressure flow channel extends through the first scroll and the frame to guide a refrigerant and oil from the compression chamber to the discharge and back pressure spaces. The compressor also includes a plurality of decompression portions.
