    Abstract: A motor housing assembly for cooling a motor assembly is disclosed. The motor housing assembly includes a stator and a rotor. To reduce a weight and a manufacturing cost, the motor housing assembly includes an aluminum housing coupled to an outer circumferential surface of a motor assembly and configured to form a first space between the aluminum housing and the motor assembly, the first space including an oil flow channel and a plastic housing coupled to an outer circumferential surface of the aluminum housing and configured to form a second space between the plastic housing and the aluminum housing, the second space including a water flow channel.

    Abstract: A drive system of a washing machine includes a housing, a motor, a rotor shaft coupled to the motor and the housing, an output shaft having a part within the rotor shaft and coupled to the housing, a planetary gear set coupled to the rotor shaft and the output shaft, and an actuator configured to move the planetary gear set in a vertical direction. When the planetary gear set is moved to one side, a part of the planetary gear set is coupled to the rotor shaft to transmit a rotational force of the rotor shaft to the output shaft at a ratio of 1:1. When the planetary gear set is moved to other side, another part of the planetary gear set is coupled to the housing to reduce the rotational force of the rotor shaft at a gear ratio of n:1 and transmit it to the output shaft.

    Abstract: A gear system is provided to secure lubrication passages when the gear system is changed between driving, neutral, and parking modes. The gear system includes a planetary gear assembly, a hollow portion output shaft selectively engaged with a carrier such that the output shaft is configured to rotate with the carrier when the output shaft is engaged with the carrier.
