摘要: A method for establishing a hybrid voice session between a mobile device and a VoIP device is disclosed. A caller using a mobile device in a mobile network initiates a request for a voice session by clicking on a virtual identifier, e.g. an email address, provided for the callee in an address book on the caller's mobile device. If the callee is online, then the request is enabled. In one embodiment, the request is enabled by creating a call registration record using a mobile data network. In another embodiment, the request is enabled by having the caller interact with an IVR system. In yet another embodiment, a caller can interact with the IVR system from any type of telephone device. The callee is notified regarding the voice session, and if accepted, the hybrid voice session is established via a voice channel and a VoIP channel.

摘要: Dynamic utilization of condensing metadata is enabled by condensing information being communicated to/from a mobile device. The communication exchange occurs between a mobile device and an internet service, and it involves a mobile internet service proxy. The information is condensed responsive to condensing metadata and uncondensed using the condensing metadata. In an example embodiment, condensing metadata comprises encoding metadata for tags and compression metadata for other data. In a first described implementation, a mobile internet service proxy effectuates a static installation of condensing metadata to the mobile device from the internet service. In a second described implementation, the internet service lacks condensing metadata. The mobile internet service proxy therefore retrieves the schema defining the relevant information and dynamically generates condensing metadata. This dynamically-generated metadata is copied to the mobile device so that condensed data may be communicated at least between the mobile device and the mobile internet service proxy.

In an embodiment, a Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) message is separated into message units using SOAP Message Transmission Optimization Mechanism (MTOM). The message units include a text-based component and independent binary component(s) of the SOAP message. A virtual connection protocol manages and sequences binary transport connection(s), such as transmission control protocol (TCP) connection events, to provide reliable wireless transfer of the message units via the binary transport connection(s).

摘要: Mobile internet services discovery and/or provisioning enables mobile devices to discover available internet services and/or to provision selected internet services, including any associated mobile applications. In an example implementation, a mobile internet services shell located at a mobile device presents available internet services to a user (e.g., upon powering the device on). The user is empowered to select one or more internet services for provisioning. The mobile internet services shell interacts with a mobile internet services proxy located on a network. In another example implementation, the mobile internet services proxy facilitates communications between the mobile internet services shell and other discovery or provisioning parties by translating communications between one format and another format that is proprietary to a mobile network operator. Other discovery or provisioning parties may include, for example, one or more of an internet service directory, an application server, or a provisioning server.

摘要: Wireless internet services billing enables a telecommunications company to bill internet service events on a transaction level. In a described implementation, an internet service event, which occurs at least partially within an internet environment, is detected. An internet services proxy injects event billing information related to the detached event into an event billing information communication that is sent to a telecommunications billing gateway. At the telecommunications billing gateway, the event billing information is logged into an event billing log in association with an identity of a telecommunications user. By way of example, the event billing information may comprise an action indicator and an entity identifier. The action indicator indicates an action corresponding to the event, and the entity identifier identifies an entity that is associated with the event. The internet services proxy may be located at a telecommunications device of a user, at a provider of internet services, or both.

摘要: A wireless device and a receiving computing system communicate over a carrier network. The wireless device submits a request for service to the receiving computing system, which then returns an authentication key. The authentication key is routed using the telephone number stated in the request for service as being associated with the wireless device. However, the authentication key is dispatched over a different data transport mechanism. For example, the request may be submitted using an IP data transport mechanism, while the authentication key is returned using an SMS data transport mechanism. The wireless device then evidences, through appropriate communication, that the wireless device both submitted the request and received the response. Accordingly, the telephone number is verified as being associated with the telephone number.
