摘要: Fluid pump control modes in a medical perfusion system include a Back Off Response Mode, a Flow Servo Mode, a Pressure Servo Mode, and a Master-Slave Servo Mode. In the Back Off Response Mode, pump's speed is decremented to a new speed when an excessive flow rate or pressure condition is detected. The new speed is maintained until an additional decrement is required or until the Back Off Response Mode is exited. In the Flow Servo Mode, a pump's speed is controlled to maintain a fluid flow rate indicated by a user as a setpoint. In the Pressure Servo Mode, a pump's speed is controlled to maintain a pressure indicated by the user as a setpoint. In the Master-Slave Servo Mode, a slave pump receives an indication of a master pump's speed, and the slave pump speed is controlled to maintain a specified percentage of the master pump's speed.

摘要: The present invention involves a dynamic brake for use in a peristaltic (i.e., roller) pump. The dynamic brake avoids backlash, due to counter rotation. In addition, it does not preclude the option of hand operating the roller pump. This is achieved by initiating the braking operation after the roller pump set-point has been set to zero and only after the roller pump has decelerated below a predefined speed (e.g., 20 rpm). In addition, the braking operation is activated for only a very brief period of time (i.e., a period of time required for the pressure in the roller pump fluid conduit to subside).

摘要: A medical perfusion system for use in connection with the medical treatment of a patient is provided with a first type of perfusion device in the form of a blood pump adapted to pump blood through a fluid conduit connected to the patient, a second type of perfusion device in the form of a sensing device adapted to sense a condition and generate a sensing signal relating to the condition, and a controller with an input device for accepting control commands from an operator. The perfusion system also includes a display device for generating visual displays relating to the perfusion system and means coupled to the display device for generating a perfusion circuit image comprising an image of each of the perfusion devices and an image of a fluid conduit.

摘要: An adapter pod for use in a medical perfusion system having a data communications network with a plurality of connection points each having a substantially identical network connector. The adapter pod includes a housing and a common connector associated with the housing which is adapted to be connected to one of the network connectors and which has a connector configuration. A device connector is also associated with the housing, is adapted to be connected to a perfusion device, and has a configuration different than the connector configuration of the common connector. A controller is disposed within the housing and is adapted to generate messages in the form of digital data packets.

The perfusion system also includes an electrical power network having an electrical power line, means for selectively connecting the perfusion devices to the electrical power network, and a controller with an input device for accepting control commands from an operator. The perfusion system could also include a control device, such as a pump, a plurality of sensing devices, and means for specifying the sensing device that the control device should be accept feedback from.
