摘要： Ophthalmic pharmaceutical compositions useful in controlling elevated intraocular pressure associated with glaucoma and ocular hypertension are described. The compositions comprise a combination of a beta-blocker to reduce the production of aqueous humor and carbachol to enhance the outflow of aqueous humor. A method of controlling elevated intraocular pressure with those compositions is also described.

摘要： Aqueous pharmaceutical compositions containing a synergistic combination of a quinolone and a polystyrene sulfonic acid polymer are described, wherein the compositions are clear solutions which are comfortable and have sustained release. Methods for use of the compositions are also disclosed. This type of formulation is particularly useful with ciprofloxacin-type quinolones by greatly increasing the solubility of these quinolones, making it feasible to have aqueous solutions containing such quinolones at or near physiological pH.

摘要： Self-preserved, multi-dose ophthalmic compositions containing tobramycin are described. The compositions do not contain a conventional antimicrobial preservative, such as benzalkonium chloride. Rather, the compositions are self-preserved as a result of the inherent antimicrobial activity of tobramycin. The compositions preferably also contain either boric acid or, more preferably, a borate/polyol complex selected from the group consisting of borate/propylene glycol, borate/glycerol, and combinations thereof.
