    Abstract: A random number generating device includes a processing request part, a receiving part, a counting part, and a random number generation part. The processing request part makes a request for a predetermined processing to a processing requested object. The receiving part receives a response from the processing requested object in response to the request. The counting part performs a counting operation to increase or decrease a count value with a predetermined cycle, the counting operation being started at least prior to receipt of the response. The random number generation part acquires at least one count value of the counting part at least one predetermined acquisition timing after the receipt of the response is started, and generates a random number by using the at least one count value that is acquired.

    Abstract: A measurement system according to one aspect of the present invention includes a battery pack and at least one type of connected device to which the pack is connected. The pack includes a first detection device detecting a predetermined physical quantity in the pack and having a predetermined measurement range. The connected device includes a second detection device detecting a physical quantity the same as the predetermined physical quantity and having a measurement range different from the range of the first detection device. One of the pack and the connected device includes a receiving device and a measurement processing device that performs a predetermined measurement process by using one of: a detection-value-related information received by the receiving device; and a detection result by one device of the first detection device and the second detection device, the one device being provided in one of the pack and the connected device.

    Abstract: A motor-driven appliance system in one aspect of an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a motor-driven appliance having a motor, at least one control circuit, and a communication device. The control circuit is configured to execute a process related to control of the motor-driven appliance. The communication device is configured to communicate with an external device. The control circuit is further configured to switch, when at least one predetermined sleep condition is satisfied, from an active mode in which the control circuit performs a normal operation to a sleep mode in which the control circuit stops part of the normal operation to thereby suppress power consumption; and to switch to the active mode when the communication device receives an external wakeup signal transmitted from the external device while the control circuit is in the sleep mode.
