    Abstract: A display includes an encapsulation layer and a substrate. The substrate includes a chip on glass (COG) seat and a flexible printed circuit (FPC) connector seat. The COG seat and the FPC seats are positioned on different edges of the substrate. A cross-connection layer between the substrate layer and the encapsulation layer, the cross-connection layer including traces connected between the COG seat and the FPC seat. A device incorporating the display may take advantage of the symmetrical display to achieve new designs.

    Abstract: In embodiments of display co-processing, a computing device includes a display, a full-power processor, and a low-power processor that can alter visual content presented by the display without utilizing the full-power processor. The low-power processor can, responsive to a request from the full-power processor, generate additional display data to update display data stored in a frame-buffer of the display. The low-power processor can then transmit the additional display data to the frame-buffer effective to alter at least a portion of the visual content presented by the display. In some embodiments, the additional display data is transmitted via a protocol converter that forwards the display data to the display using a display-specific communication protocol.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling embedded raw image data within a display having internal memory. The method includes sending a frame of code and a final compilation of raw image data to the internal memory of the display from a primary host processor prior to the primary host processor entering a sleep state. When the primary host processor has entered a sleep state, control of the raw image data is redirected to at least one secondary host processor. The secondary host processor reads the frame of code within the internal memory of the display and instructs the display to perform an image-related behavior output that may include updating the display itself based on the frame of code found in the internal memory of the display.
