    Abstract: A communication device receives coordinates for an inner area and an outer area associated with a geo-fence. The communication device determines its current location coordinate and determines how the current location coordinate relates to the coordinates for the inner area and the outer area. The communication device discovers, using the current location coordinate and the coordinates for the inner area and the outer area, that the communication device is located outside of the inner area and inside of the outer area. Responsive to the discovering, the communication device sends a query to a network equipment to determine the current location of the communication device relative to the geo-fence. The communication device receives information associated with an intermediate area and uses the information associated with the intermediate area to determine the current location of the communication device relative to the geo-fence.

    Abstract: A method and an electronic device for inputting handwriting character are provided. The electronic device comprises a touch screen, a memory, and a processor. The processor is configured to perform the functions of the method. The method comprises steps of: adding a handwriting input on the touch screen; detecting a position of an initial point of the handwriting input; determining an input area for the handwriting input among the plurality of input areas of the touch screen based on the position of the initial point of the handwriting input; determining an operation of the handwriting input based on the position of the initial point of the handwriting input and performing the determined operation; and upon completion of the handwriting input, recognizing the input as a character and displaying the recognized character in the determined input area on the touch screen.

    Abstract: A method and server for broadcasting a data file to talk groups. The method includes fragmenting the data file into data blocks and broadcasting the data blocks to the talk groups. The method also includes detecting a voice call start event based on a first change is a received voice call status. The method further includes detecting a voice call end event based on a second change in the received voice call status. The method also includes generating a backlog item. The backlog item includes a subset of data blocks of the plurality of data blocks. The subset of data blocks were broadcasted on the broadcast data channel after the voice call start event and prior to the voice call end event. The method further includes broadcasting the subset of data blocks on the broadcast data channel upon detection of the voice call end event.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for a first communication device for use with a first vehicle in a system for transmitting information about an incident occurring on a road. The first communication device includes a first receiver to receive an incident indicator. In one embodiment, a first electronic processor is electrically coupled to the first receiver and a first transmitter. The first electronic processor is configured to determine whether to relay a modified incident indicator to other vehicles. The first electronic processor is further configured to modify at least a portion of incident information included in the incident indicator to create the modified incident indicator. The first electronic processor is further configured to control the first transmitter to transmit the modified incident indicator to one or more other vehicles.
