摘要： A method of manufacturing a recording head for use in an ink jet printer involves the steps of, after treating a surface of a discharge port formation member having plural discharge ports formed thereon, which formation member is formed with a material having a water-repellent property, forming the discharge ports by applying radiation from a pulsed laser beam, and then performing heat treatment for eliminating byproducts from the orifice forming sticking to and deposited in peripheries of the discharge ports, or if an orifice plate, byproducts sticking to peripheries of the discharge ports.

摘要： A method of manufacturing a recording head for use in an ink jet head involves providing a discharge port formation member having a surface in which orifices are to be formed, treating a discharge port face of the discharge port formation member with a water-repellent material, and forming orifices by applying radiation from a pulsed laser beam to the discharge port formation member which has been treated by the material having a water-repellent property, so that forming the orifices creates byproducts. The method also involves sticking at least once a tape having an adhesive layer against the discharge port face of the discharge port formation member against at least peripheral portions of the orifices having the byproducts created in the orifice forming step sticking thereto and deposited therein, and peeling the tape therefrom.

摘要： An ink jet head accomplishes high quality recording for a long term by an improved liquid repellency treatment. This liquid repellency treatment is applied to at least a peripheral portion of a discharge port on an ink discharge port forming surface of the ink jet head. A mixture of a fluorine-containing high polymer compound and a compound having fluorine substituted hydrocarbon group and a silazane group, alkoxysilane group or halogenized silane group is employed as a liquid repellent agent.

摘要： An ink-jet recording head has ejection outlets formed by treating a face of a plate for the ejection outlets with a water-repellent and irradiating the plate with a laser beam from the backside of the plate. The head is provided with a sealing member for sealing the ejection outlets. The water-repellent has a hardness of higher than the pencil hardness 6B at room temperature. A decomposition product layer is formed on the layer of the water repellent at peripheral portions of the ejection outlets.

摘要： In a laser process apparatus, a plurality of holes each having a predetermined shape are formed in a work upon radiation of light from an excimer laser. The apparatus is provided with a mask, in which a plurality of predetermined small holes are formed in correspondence with the plurality of holes to be formed in the work, and which allows laser light from the excimer laser to pass through the small holes thereof toward the work, a projection optical system for projecting optical images each having a predetermined shape onto the work through the small holes of the mask, a measurement optical system for measuring a work position, and a moving stage for moving the work on the basis of a measurement result form the measurement optical system.
