摘要: A switchable autostereoscopic display device comprises a display panel having an array of display pixels for producing a display, the display pixels being arranged in rows and columns; and an imaging arrangement for directing the output from different pixels to different spatial positions to enable a stereoscopic image to be viewed. The imaging arrangement is electrically switchable between at least three modes comprising a 2D mode and two 3D modes. The imaging arrangement comprises an electrically configurable graded index lens array. The display can be switched between a number of modes to enable the display to be adapted or to adapt itself to the image content to be displayed and/or the display device orientation.

摘要: A switchable autostereoscopic display device comprises a display panel having an array of display pixels for producing a display, the display pixels being arranged in rows and columns; and an imaging arrangement for directing the output from different pixels to different spatial positions to enable a stereoscopic image to be viewed. The multi-view display device (100) comprises: a structure (104) of light modulating elements (105-108) being located in a first plane, which are arranged to provide respective light beams to; optical directory means (110) being located in a second plane which is substantially parallel to the first plane, for directing the respective light beams into one or more predetermined directions relative to the first plane, depending on an actual view configuration of the multi-view display device; and optical configuration means (120) for optically setting the multi-view display device in the actual view configuration, by means of the structure (104) of light modulating elements (105-108).

摘要: A switchable display device (100) which is arranged to switch between a two-dimensional view mode and a three-dimensional view mode is disclosed. The switchable display device (100) comprises: a structure (104) of light generating elements (105-108) for generating light on basis of respective driving values; and optical directory means (110) for directing the generated light in dependence of an actual view mode, the actual view mode being either the two-dimensional view mode or the three-dimensional view mode. The switchable display device (100) is arranged to alternately display two-dimensional image data and three-dimensional image data, while the optical directory means (110) are switched synchronously; the 2D/3D switching is performed at a predetermined frequency, sufficiently high so that the observer can perceive a 2D window and a 3D window simultaneously.

摘要: An autostereoscopic display device comprises a reflection layer for reflecting at least a portion of incident light, a polarization conversion layer arranged over the reflection layer, and an array of lenticular elements arranged over at least a portion of the polarization conversion layer and including a birefringent material. Light having a first state of polarization is arranged to pass through the lenticular element array without substantial lenticular element focusing, wherein the polarization state is transformed by the polarization conversion layer such that the reflected light has a second state of polarization arranged to pass through the lenticular element array with lenticular element focusing to provide multiple views.

摘要: A waveguide (40; 51; 61), arranged to guide light from at least one light source (53a-c), the waveguide comprising at least one guiding edge (43; 50a-c; 60) adapted to contain the light in the waveguide (40; 51; 61), and an extraction edge (44; 50d) adapted to enable extraction of the light from the waveguide (40; 51; 61), wherein the guiding edge (43; 50a-c; 60) is configured to reflect the light on its way towards the extraction edge (44; 50d). The guiding edge (43; 50a-c; 60) is further configured such that a direction (xr1, Xr2) of reflection of a ray of light impinging on the guiding edge (43; 50a-c; 60), in a given direction (xi) of incidence relative to a general direction (X0) of extension of the guiding edge (43; 50a-c; 60), is dependent on a position (P1, P2) of incidence along the guiding edge (43; 50a-c; 60). The waveguide may be configured such that virtually no light is lost through back-scattering or unintentional extraction or outcoupling through the at least one guiding edge.

摘要: The invention relates to an illumination module (1) comprising a plurality of light sources (2) distributed over a light guiding plate (3) accommodating said light sources and capable of guiding light of said light sources through at least a portion of said plate. The light guiding plate has one or more out-coupling structures (4), preferably arranged around each light source, so that at least a portion of the light emitted by a first light source (2A) and at least a portion of the light emitted by a second adjacent light source (2B) mix within said light guiding plate before leaving said illumination module as a single substantially collimated mixed light beam. The invention further relates to a lamp and a display apparatus comprising such an illumination module.

摘要: A color cathode ray tube (CRT) has an electron-optical system (1) for generating three electron beams (EBR, EBG, EBB), deflection means (2) and a screen (3). In operation, the deflection means (2) deflect the electron beams (EBR, EBG, EBB), so as to change a landing position of the beams on the screen (3). However, by deflecting the beams, the beams are defocused and the spot on the screen (3) changes. In a color cathode ray tube with a relatively large screen, the electron beam defocusing can be observed to be different in strength for each beam (EBR, EBG, EBB). The invention provides a solution to this problem by providing a modified DAF section (40) in the electron-optical system (1). The DAF section (40) comprises at least two electron lenses (L1, L2) having different strengths for each electron beam (EBR, EBG, EBB).

摘要: A light guide (11; 101; 111) comprising first and second oppositely arranged faces, an in-coupling portion (13a-f) for in-coupling of light from a light-source (12a-f; 95a-f; 102; 106a-c; 112a-f), and an out-coupling portion (15a-f; 103; 113a-f) located adjacent to the in-coupling portion (13a-f). The out-coupling portion (15a-f; 103; 113a-f) is configured to out-couple a primary light beam having a direction of propagation directed from a position in the in-coupling portion (13a-f) with a lower out-coupling efficiency than a secondary light beam having a direction of propagation directed from a position in the light guide (11; 101; 111) outside the in-coupling portion (13a-f). In this manner, a good mixing of light in the light guide can be achieved without imposing any particular requirements on the collimation of the in-coupled light.
