    摘要: A removeable and adjustable prosthetic insert disposed between the stump of a limb and the socket of a prosthesis is comprised of a high strength, pliable polymeric material within which are formed a plurality of spaced air pockets, or voids, which are coupled together by a series of connecting channels, or passages. Using an air valve extending through the polymeric material and coupled to the closed air pocket/channel system, the air pockets may be inflated to fill the stump/socket interspace and provide a tight-fitting, air cushioned prosthetic socket attachment. The air inflatable prosthetic insert can accommodate changes in the condition of the stump and applies a uniform prosthetic attaching force thereto. Other embodiments also employ an inflatable air cushion and make use of spaced, solid spheres disposed between air passages arranged in a grid-like array; and pinched tubing with interconnecting air passages to form a series of inflatable nodules. An air cushion isolates the limb stump from the hard, rigid prosthesis socket for user comfort and provides a custom fit for improved control and maneuverability of the prosthetic device.

    摘要: The present invention is a control system for conditioning movement of a work implement during a work cycle. In one embodiment, the control system comprises an electronic-hydraulic valve connected to the work implement and a computer system having a central processing unit and a memory device. The control system further comprises a mode control module stored on the memory device. The mode control module is generally adapted to detect whether the control handle of the work implement is signaling for operating in a smooth mode or an abrupt mode, and to output a control signal to the electronic-hydraulic valve to control operation of the work implement during the smooth mode or the abrupt mode. The mode control module comprises a smooth mode module and an abrupt mode module. The smooth mode module and the abrupt mode module are adapted to optimize movement of the work cycle during the smooth mode, and abrupt mode, respectively.

    摘要: A dual steering system for controlling the steering of a motor grader is disclosed. The first portion of the steering system comprises a steering wheel connected through a hydraulic steering valve to hydraulic right and left steering cylinders, which are connected to the right front tire and left front tire, respectively. Rotation of the steering wheel causes rotation of the front tires. A second portion of the steering system comprises a first button and a second button that are mounted to a control lever. Actuation of the first button sends a first electrical input signal and actuation of the second button sends a second electrical input signal to an electronic control computer. The electronic control computer generates control signals in response to the electrical input signals and transmits these control signals to a plurality of electro-hydraulic actuators. Actuation of an electro-hydraulic actuator by one of the control signals leads to actuation of the right steering cylinder and the left steering cylinder thereby causing rotation of the front wheels of the grader in one of two directions. Thus, the direction of travel of a motor grader can be controlled by one of two steering systems, one of which permits an operator to maintain contact with a control lever while adjusting the steering of the motor grader.
