The number of clock pulses between the negative going transition of the vertical blanking signal and the positive going transition of the first horizontal blanking signal is tracked and when the number of pulses fails to exceed a reference value the number of pulses is changed to effectively shift the transitions with respect to one another.

    摘要: The present invention is for a low buzz television signal processing system. The picture signal is detected by a quasi-synchronous detector wherein the picture carrier is amplitude limited and video tank filtered for insertion into the video mixer for deriving the composite video signal. The sound channel comprises a single parallel resonant tuned circuit forming a bandpass filter with a passband centered at the sound carrier frequency. The modulated sound carrier is fed to a sound detector which is also fed the same filtered picture carrier signal provided by the video tank for providing the 4.5 MHz intercarrier sound signal.

    摘要: PLL apparatus for generating an oscillatory signal phase locked to a component of a further signal comprises a variable oscillator for generating the oscillatory signal and a source of the further signal. A phase detector responsive to the oscillatory signal and to the component of the further signal, provides a phase error signal which is coupled to the variable oscillator via a limiter. Circuit means are provided for controlling the limiting level of the limiter. The dual limiting substantially improves the loop noise tolerance and reduces the loop sensitivity to occasional phase reversals of the component of the further signal. Additional enhancements to loop stability and noise immunity are provided by an unlock detector which detects and totalizes phase rotations in a selected area of a phase plane and by a phase wrap detector which maintains a lock indication during phase angle wrapping.

    摘要: In a picture in picture (PIP) section of a color television receiver, color burst pulses for extracting the color burst of a video signal corresponding to the main picture are generated in response to horizontal synchronization pulses derived by the deflection section of the television receiver. The color burst is used to derive a color subcarrier signal for remodulating baseband color components corresponding to the small picture insert. The deflection related horizontal synchronization pulses are coupled to the PIP section in order to properly position the small picture in relation to the main picture despite horizontal centering adjustments. In order to properly position the color burst pulses, a burst gate pulse delay control signal is generated in response to the relationship between the positions of the deflection related horizontal synchronization pulses and the horizontal synchronization pulses of the video signal corresponding to the main picture. The color burst pulse delay signal is advantageously generated by a microprocessor-based television control unit which receives both deflection and video related horizontal synchronization pulses for on-screen and tuning control purposes, respectively.

Exemplary compensation circuitry for an amplifier includes a transistor coupled between the supply busses and controlled by signal potential from the amplifier to draw supply current proportional to the signal applied to the amplifier, which supply current is opposite in phase to supply current drawn by the amplifier.
