    摘要: A method for processing black point compensation parameters for a color image to be printed so as to enhance image quality of the color image is provided. The method includes analyzing image content of a received color image to identify one or more performance attributes to be considered during a black point compensation parameters processing procedure, the performance attributes estimate an effect of the black point compensation parameters on the image quality of the received color image; selecting, based on the identified performance attributes, a black point compensation (BPC) algorithm to be used during the processing procedure; deriving a model using the identified performance attribute that is configured to estimate relationships between the black point compensation parameters and the identified performance attribute; maximizing the performance attribute of the derived model so as to process the BPC parameters for the color image; and using the processed black point compensation parameters to construct output device profiles.

    摘要: A method and system for creating guilloché base pattern with two-dimensional periodicity in a plurality of replicate patterns is shown wherein the creating can be assessed in real-time for pattern acceptability by a user. A base pattern is set on an imaging device in vector space relative to a set of predetermined pattern nodes. The base pattern is modulated via a user interface by adjusting positions of the pattern known for selectively controlling curve shapes of the pattern. A guilloché mark is illustrated by display on the imaging device of the adjusted base pattern and a compilation of associated replicate patterns for user assessment of the mark.

    摘要: What is disclosed is a method for compensating for printer characteristics having a tone reproduction curve which is either too rough to be fitted by interpolation or which does not have a simple parametric function. The method comprising first placing a first set of control points on the tone reproduction curve such that each point is representative of the behavior of the curve in the vicinity of that point and fitting a first smoothed curve to the first set of control points. A subset of points belonging to the set of first control points along the first smoothed curve is moved, thereby indicating a desired change in that region of the curve of the original function. A second set of control points is generated from the set of moved first control points and the remaining unmoved first control points and a second smoothed curve is then fitted to the second set of control points. A differential function between the first and second fitted curves is then determined. This difference is added to the original curve to produce a smoothly modified last curve, which retains the original curve's characteristics.

    摘要: A method and system are provided for producing a print that substantially corresponds to the colorimetric attributes of a corresponding proof for an electronic source file. The method and system entail creating a first raster file corresponding to the electronic source file and a second raster file corresponding to the proof. The first and second raster files are aligned to insure a spatial correlation, and a color conversion data structure is built by comparing the aligned first and second raster files. The color conversion data structure is then used to convert the first raster file to a color converted output file. The color converted output file is color transformed to an output file which is then used to produce the print. The print substantially corresponds to the colorimetric attributes of the corresponding proof for the electronic source file.

    摘要: Methods and systems in an image processing device for controlling colors that are located external to a gamut are disclosed. A plurality of color values can be automatically provided as input to said image processing device, wherein said image processing device is under a control of a particular dimensional order, typically a three-dimensional order, but alternatively can be a two-dimensional order. Next, an operation can be performed dynamically determining which color value among the plurality of color values has attained a gamut limit. Thereafter, the particular dimensional order can be automatically reduced, thereby providing improved control for colors that are located external to said gamut. The plurality of color values analyzed is generally associated with three colors—cyan, magenta, and yellow.
