摘要: In an indirect interaction input device, z-information can be considered in defining a user interaction model for the device. Any measurement of displacement in a z-direction can be used, if such information is available from the input device. The pressure data can be used to define states of interaction, with transitions between these states determined by various thresholds. The device can provide raw or normalized data, and can provide state information or data defining its thresholds that specify state transitions. This information can be provided as an attribute of a contact point provided by the device. Data can be normalized across various similar devices. Applications can use the raw pressure data from the device for their own purposes, or rely on the device itself or host operating system software to interpret the pressure data according to thresholds and states.

摘要: A laser assisted type magnetic recording head forming a magnetic recording apparatus includes a focusing lens system including an objective lens and a hemispherical or hyper-hemispherical lens and whose effective numerical aperture is greater than 1.0. A recording thin-film magnetic head is built in the inside of the hemispherical or hyper-hemispherical lens. A magnetic recording head and a magnetic recording apparatus are able to record information on a magnetic recording medium while the coercive force of only a predetermined recording portion of the magnetic recording medium can be lowered but a temperature can be prevented from being lowered before magnetic fields are applied.

摘要: A plurality of buzzer sound data obtained by converting different types of intermittent buzzer sounds to numerical values is stored in a buzzer source data memory. Coded data received from a host apparatus by a receiver is decoded by a receiver. A decoding result is stored in an index register. The buzzer sound data is read out from the buzzer sound data memory in response to the decoding result data in accordance with the instruction supplied from the host apparatus through a readout. The intermittent buzzer sounds corresponding to the readout buzzer sound data are produced by a buzzer unit.

摘要: A thermomagnetic recording and reproducing system for use in optical magnetic disc apparatus wherein at least a first layer (1) of soft magnetic material having an easy axis of magnetization normal to the layer surface, a transparent non-magnetic intermediate layer (2), a second layer (3) of soft magnetic material having an easy axis of magnetization normal to the layer surface and a metal film or semi-metal film (4) adjacent to the second magnetized layer are superposed on one another to form a recording medium (5). In recording, a bias magnetic field is applied to the first and second magnetized layers (1) and (3) so that the magnetized layers are magnetized to have a single magnetic domain over their whole surfaces and a magnetization directed perpendicular to the layer surface. Then, a light pulse having a first wavelength of, for example, a relatively short wavelength and of which optical absorptance in the magnetized layer is relatively high is made incident on the single magnetic domain of the first magnetized film (1) to form a cylindrical magnetic domain magnetized in the direction opposite to the magnetization direction by the applied bias magnetic field, thereby recording information bits on the first magnetized layer (1). A light pulse having a second wavelength of, for example, a relatively long wavelength which passes through the first and second magnetized layers (1) and (3) is made incident on the single magnetic domain of the second magnetized layer (3) to form a cylindrical magnetic domain magnetized in the direction opposite to the magnetization direction by the applied bias magnetic field. The information is read out from the medium (5) on which the recording was made as above by utilizing the magneto optic effect.

摘要: A computer configured to selectively use prediction to compensate for a latency of an input device. The input device may be a touch screen. Processing of touch inputs may lead to a latency between the user performing a touch input and the touch screen display responding to the touch input. A touch screen component predicts a subsequent position of a touch contact point based on the sensed positions of the touch contact point. The component may be a software component that provides a predictive output that can be selectively used based on a characteristic of a touch input. The component may be generic such that it may be applied on multiple types of computers equipped with different types of touch sensing hardware configured with any suitable settings. The component's output may be used to control the touch screen display.

摘要: One or more techniques and/or systems are provided for utilizing input data received from an indirect interaction device (e.g., mouse, touchpad, etc.) as if the data was received from a direct interaction device (e.g., touchscreen). Interaction models are described for handling input data received from an indirect interaction device. For example, the interaction models may provide for the presentation of two or more targets (e.g., cursors) on a display when two or more contacts (e.g., fingers) are detected by indirect interaction device. Moreover, based upon a number of contacts detected and/or a pressured applied by respective contacts, the presented target(s) may be respectively transitioned between a hover visualization and an engage visualization. Targets in an engage visualization may manipulate a size of an object presented in a user interface, pan the object, drag the object, rotate the object, and/or otherwise engage the object, for example.

摘要: Wheels of a two-wheeled motor vehicle are supported by support rollers corresponding to each wheel, respectively, and an antilock brake system is operated for each wheel. Measuring means 20 and 31 measure values related to the rotation speed of rollers supporting the wheel for which the antilock brake system operates. Based on the values obtained by the measuring means 20 and 31, the waveform accompanying the change in rotation speed of the wheel that occurs by the operation of the antilock brake system is computed by a computing means 44 based on the values obtained by the measuring means 20 and 31. A determination means 45 determines whether or not a portion of the waveform obtained by the computing means 44 falls within a predetermined range or not. According to the present brake system test of a two-wheeled motor vehicle, not only is it possible to specify the malfunctioning portion easily, but it is also possible to reduce the time required for each test of the motor vehicle dramatically, enabling the test of the two-wheeled motor vehicle to be performed with high accuracy and efficiency.
