    摘要: An improved displacement control valve incorporated in a variable displacement compressor. The control valve is installed in an accommodating hole formed in a rear housing of the compressor. A cap is attached to a housing body of the control valve. A pressure sensing chamber is defined between the cap and the housing body. A pressure sensing member, or bellows, is located in the pressure sensing chamber. The bellows moves a valve body in accordance with pressure introduced into the pressure sensing chamber. A tubular protector, which is made of an elastic material, is attached to the cap. The control valve is installed in the rear housing by inserting the valve, cap first, into the accommodating hole. During this installation, the protector prevents the cap from directly contacting the housing or inner wall of the accommodating hole. The cap is therefore not deformed. The performance of the control valve is therefore improved.

    摘要: A compressor has a cam plate located in a crank chamber and mounted on a drive shaft and a piston coupled to the cam plate and located in a cylinder bore. The piston compresses gas supplied to the cylinder bore from a separate external circuit by way of a suction chamber and discharges the compressed gas to the external circuit by way of a discharge chamber. The cam plate is tiltable between a maximum inclined angle position and a minimum inclined angle position with respect to a plane perpendicular to an axis of the drive shaft according to a difference between the pressure in the crank chamber and the pressure in the cylinder bore. The piston moves by the stroke based on an inclination of the cam plate to control the displacement of the compressor. A valve is placed between the discharge chamber and the external circuit. The valve selectively connects and disconnects the discharge chamber with the external circuit based on a difference between the pressure acting on the upstream side of the valve and the pressure acting on the downstream side of the valve.

    摘要: A compressor housing and method of manufacture and assembly are disclosed. The compressor housing includes a cylinder block and a front housing. An annular projection is formed on the front end of the cylinder block. An annular groove is formed on the rear end of the front housing. The cylinder block and the front housing are secured to each other to prevent the front housing from being displaced in relation to the cylinder block by engaging the annular projection with the annular groove. A gasket is located between the front end of the cylinder block and the rear end of the front housing secured to each other to seal between the cylinder block and the front housing. This compressor and its method of manufacture reduce the amount of misalignment between a shaft bore in the cylinder block and a shaft bore in the front housing, which improves the performance of the compressor.

    摘要: A variable displacement compressor includes a crank chamber for housing a cam plate, a suction chamber, and a discharge chamber. The apparatus includes a first passage connecting the crank chamber with the discharge chamber to discharge the pressure in the crank chamber to the suction chamber to change the suction pressure. A second passage connects the discharge chamber with the crank chamber to supply the pressure from the discharge chamber to the crank chamber increase the pressure in the crank chamber. A valve is disposed in the second passage to open or close the second passage. When the cam plate speed exceeds a certain predetermined amount, a solenoid is actuated to increase the size of the valve opening. As such, the load on the compressor during high speed rotation of the compressor drive shaft is reduced and the durability of the compressor is increased.

    摘要: A compressor has a control valve that adjusts the pressure difference between a crank chamber and a cylinder bore for controlling the inclination of a drive plate. The control valve protrudes outward from the compressor housing. The compressor also has a support protruding outward from the front housing and a leg protruding outward from the cylinder block. The outer ends of the support and the leg extend further from the compressor than the furthest extremity the control valve. Therefore, when the compressor is placed on a flat surface, the support and the leg prevent the control valve from contacting the surface. This protects the control valve from damage during transport and handling.

    摘要: A control valve for a variable displacement compressor. The control valve has a valve body for regulating a gas passage. A bellows actuates the valve body in accordance with an operating pressure introduced to a pressure sensing chamber. A solenoid biases the valve body with a force based on the electric current supplied to the solenoid. A cylindrical cap is fitted to a cylindrical portion provided on a housing of the control valve. The bellows is located in the pressure sensing chamber. The axial position of the cap in relation to the cylindrical portion is adjusted such that the bellows is positioned at a specific initial position when a pressure having a predetermined magnitude is introduced to the pressure sensing chamber and when a current having a predetermined value is supplied to the solenoid. The cap is secured to the cylindrical portion by crimping with the bellows positioned at the initial position.

    摘要: A variable displacement compressor that decreases displacement to reduce compression load without imbalancing the rotation of the drive shaft when the rotating speed of the compressor's drive shaft exceeds a predetermined limit value. The compressor includes a pressurizing passage connecting a crank chamber to a discharge chamber. A rotated guide rotates integrally with the drive shaft. The pressurizing passage is opened and closed by a valve body. Orbiting balls, which contact the valve body, are arranged about the axis of the drive shaft and the rotated guide. The balls follow the rotation of the rotated guide and orbit about the axis. The orbiting radius of the balls varies. A spring urges the balls in a direction decreasing the orbiting radius of the balls. When the rotating speed of the drive shaft exceeds the limit value, centrifugal force moves the balls against the force of the spring and increases the orbiting diameter of the balls. This moves the valve body and increases the size of the pressurizing passage.
